Let's be very clear about this. The city hired the experts of BRT.

What they did NOT do was effectively price the system.

When the tenders started coming in the prices were well above what was expected.

I think Eddie might take all the blame.

It remains my opinion that while the costs have changed, the problem is NOT the cost but trying to blame somebody and the city's "prudent" reaction to the costs. Under the new prudent approach they only make a "cost saving" of R40.2m which basically just for PR.

I think we have an incomplete flyover on our hands. What a let down after the all the other great work by the DA.

The red lanes are special surfaces to cope with the heavier IRT buses.

Thanks but what I want to know is if the NMT routes outside of the CBD are still going to get finished? A few routes around the stadium is pretty useless to someone who wants to come into town on a bicycle

This is all the information I have. The IRT routes will have cycle lanes and pedestrian lanes

Basically, where there are IRT routes there are cycle routes. So when completed, you can cycle from Bayside to the CBD.
