Cape Town clamps down on Uber: report

*scratches head*

So people are complaining about a service, quoted upfront, which they used and seem happy with, due to price? Nvm the matric pas rate, in the words of Eminem, "how f#@ked up is you?"

If you don't like it, call a diferant taxi.

Exactly of you don't like it don't use it.
I swear people have nothing better to do than complain about the things

Being charged such exorbitant rates in such circumstances for a service is being ripped off in my book.
Nothing justifies the cost.

If shop A sells an item for R5, and shop B sells the same item for R100, is shop B ripping you off? You have the choice of buying it at shop A, surely. Even if shop A have longer queues, it's still your choice to support them. Or not.

Shop A quotes you R5 with delivery in two weeks.
Shop B quotes you R5000 and you can have it right now.
You decide you can't wait, and sign on the dotted line agreeing to pay R5000.
You receive the goods, unpack them, and put them in your room.
In the morning you decide you have been raped, but there is no evidence of said crime.

Yep. Makes perfect sense to me.
