Cape Town cracks down on construction mafia

Thirteen suspects were apprehended in connection with construction mafias in Cape Town and appeared in court on Friday, June 28, 2024.

Newzroom Afrika reports that two of the suspects were allegedly linked to the murder of Cape Town city official Wendy Kloppers in February last year.

The special task team to sort out these gangs would have been created years ago and nothing happened and currently they are running rampant on all projects especially fibre installations. The so-called community turns out to be Zims or other nationals that intimidate the local people.
