Cape Town is increasingly going it alone

UN Agenda21/30 and WEF Great Reset.

As a layman, how does one determine whether these are truly malevolent ideas or merely benevolent ideas twisted into conspiracy? I see nothing wrong at face value with sustainable development and rebuilding society following economic downturn.

In fact, that speaks to many contentious issues these days.
Because none of them are grass-roots organizations, yet are desperate to portray themselves as such (hence are accurately described as astro-turf organizations).

That's one reason.

Another tell-tale sign would be their track-record economically. I mean they are self-appointed economic experts. The WEF (World Economic Forum)was founded by Schwab in the early 70s..... around about the time the USD was taken off the gold standard.

They have embraced and implemented the ideas of Keynes for decades. Keynes was a nihilist and a eugenicist and hated the bourgoisie, with their stubborn adherence to a moral imperative and to principle.

Ask what their view is of expansion of the money supply, to fund wars of aggression abroad. Well-known and celebrated Eugenicists, like George Bernhard Shaw, famous playright and Fabian Socialist, have listed large-scale war and infanticide as means of addressing the world population problem.

These people are not interested in economics unless it is leveling the industrial world, ala Maurice Strong, Rio Earth Summit 1991, through inducement to sovereign indebtedness.

I'm barely scratching the surface.

Just don't expect to find their critics published in any of the handful of media channels obedient to the script. We are fast learning what their army of censorship activists are capable of. Their go-to strategies for achieving the aforementioned leveling, involve so-called Climate Change and pandemics, both of which we are supposed to believe are based on objective science. Yet they conveniently are never available to square the notion that dissent is an intrinsic part of the scientific method.

As far as I understand it general water supply to the city (from dams etc.) is the responsibility of the national Department of Water and Sanitation.

Distribution of that water within the city is the responsibility of the CoCT.

These national departments better be careful. They keep handing over responsibilities like this and eventually they will work themselves out of a reason to exist entirely.

Based on their track record, the national department shouldn't exist..

Yea they've probably already reached that point. They don't really add value at this point.

Same with most of the national departments. Transport is a joke.
What gets me is what do they think they'll replace them with, really weird lack of effort for an increasingly failing party.

 Isn't that what we all came from..

What makes you think preserving the bill of rights(legal protection of privacy of person and property) would result in reverting to the stone age.

You may have that backwards, Brian_G.

Has the ANC not openly stated if it is illegal to expropriate private property, that they will simply pass a law to make it legal?

Decentralised control on a provincial or even municipal basis will replace these things. Like what's happening in Cape Town. Eventually that city is going to take control of all the services. It's already in the process of taking over rail transport, electricity and water.

Municipalities and provinces that function will naturally take over these services as the national government has to admit more and more that it can't deliver.

Those that don't function are just doomed I think.

Honorable goal, just questioning the method.

Maybe one day you'll treat us to a thread about the reason we can't ever learn to work together as a united society (note I didn't say unified).

I don't advocate forcing you into my method. I only expect the same civil courtesy in return.

We don't have to share a jurisdiction, you and me. We can still trade on those areas we do still share core values in.

Btw, does your method involve waiting for outspoken Marxists to become less Marxist? After 28 years of them proving ever more true to their Marxist colors?

Maybe one day you'll treat us to a thread about the reason we can't ever learn to work together as a united society (note I didn't say unified).
We learn to work together by being free to make mistakes.

Some are too terrified to contemplate life without the legal power to force others to subsidize their mistakes.

That, right there, is the ethical anatomy of a Collectivist of any stripe you could care to mention.

We learn to work together by being free to make mistakes.
Perhaps the crux of this.
I'm free to make mistakes, only at risk to others if I involve others and then I'm expected to pay for that.

What you may mean though is that you don't want the burden side of sharing.
And of course we could discuss wide politics, not doing well at all and yes a new approach is strongly needed. A united one would be best.

Let's see if we can't bring this down to more concrete terms, a bit....

Do you vote for politicians?

Yes, but let's consider why I do as well - I currently don't like any locally, I do support the concept of democracy so take best available IMO.

(But let's not hog this thread, later..)

Edit: Sometimes not voting is a better message, except that it can easily send the wrong message.

Where I'm going with this is that politicians are funded through confiscated wealth(directly or indirectly).

A vote for a politician or political party, arguably unless the party is a single-issue, secessionist party, is a vote on how to redistribute stolen funds.

By 'free to make mistakes', I meant without being subsidized by the unwilling. They are by definition unwilling, because otherwise it wouldn't be considered necessary to legally mandate handing over a portion of your earnings every month.

I'm not wagging my finger, here. Because everyone is tainted, pretty much, at least to some extent. You really have to be pretty well-organized to avoid the trap. So I'm not lecturing. I'm merely stating this State thing is a sticky situation because it's corrupting(it draws you in), and before you know it you are finding justifications for the violation of legal P4(protection of privacy of person and property). And we know from history, that it's a slippery-slope.

But having said that, it's not complicated, in terms of what the problem is.

It may be difficult to confront and, hence, to extricate oneself from(or much easier than one thinks), but it's really not that complicated. If you can say no to forced-subsidies, you will unleash the incentive to produce. This has been tried and it works 100% of the time, to the extent it is strictly adhered to.

It's very much an ethical problem when it comes to P4. Everyone should be free to make mistakes but only with voluntary charity. If there is a (market-sheltered)crony-capitalist or a tax-payer supporting you, in your charity or charitable benefits.... hopefully you see the problem.

Lol...We are all kinda 'going it alone', nothing new and exciting here...

Buy your own medical
Buy your own power
Buy your own security
Buy your own education
The trouble is that all those service providers need effective State permission to operate(occupational licensure that lies outside the hands of the consumer).

If you don't obey their dictats you can be shut down. The State has demonstrated its willingness to use violence to secure business compliance, in coraling the masses.

If you have 2 people doing something together, quite soon there will be an unwillingness by one about what the other wants.

Yes, we all have that ability to go the wrong way, but we still have to find joint solutions.

That's not a bad point you raise.

As far as I can see.... and as you may suspect I have given this some thought... there is not a lot we need to agree on. A case could even be made that we only need to agree on one thing.... freedom of association i.e. open competition in jurisdictions.

From there we would all be free to copy each others success and avoid each others failures.

Wins all round.... as far as the eye can see.

You're allowed to say it's a good point :giggle:

Only issue that comes to mind with that is debilitating greed. If not by politicians then by individuals or like minded groups.

I'll leave it there.

You get what you pay for.
No, you don't.

Overwhelmingly the poor area's get more and more of what you pay for, and the suburbs are slowly degrading.
May seem nice to the SJW's but it just means more poor come as they get free services etc, never ending stream from other area's of the country.

Infrastructure needs expand, and existing taxpayer base can't afford the load of all the non-tax/rate payers.

It's unsustainable. As Margaret Thatcher put it - "Socialism is fine, until you run out of other peoples money."
