Cape Town steps up cellphone confiscation drive

I don't see people talking on their phones that often, but in my commute between the suburbs and town, I see people texting all the time. Annoys me to no end.

As a motorcyclist, these people not only make me fear for my life but the anger at the thought of my wife and kids going through the rest of their lives without me because some cnut just had to comment on a selfie right now is almost too much to bear.

Keeping a clear head in that situation can be very hard which further increases the risk.

Doing anything other than looking ahead while driving should be punishable by death!

Every second person in traffic is either on their phone, or playing with it...

What annoys me is these guys with the R600k+ vehicles, and they can't afford something as simple as a bluetooth kit...

Good to hear this is getting enforced.
Was also very pleased to see dozens of cars getting ticketed for parking in the cycling lane outside the biscuit mill
