Cape Town's F1 bid delayed

How pathetic man!

Do they have any idea how good this could be for Cape Town?

It's bigger and better the damn Soccer World Cup!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how do you figure that?

nothing is bigger than a soccer world cup

Not in total, but if you put it in perspective, the entire Soccer World Cup isn't played in CTN, just 8-12 games. So if you compare the average revenue you could generate in the city from either F1 or Soccer, I'm quite sure the F1 part would take the crown.

Depending on the circuit, there can be anything from 50 000 to 500 000 spectators over 2-4 days. That's some serious money considering the fact that you average F1 fan is not the poorest guy in the world. I mean, these are the guys that go to Monaco for a holiday!!

And F1 is much better to watch, i will definitly fly to CPT if they host it there, even if the ticket prices are more than my yearly income. . .

Its different for me, i know what those guys go through to get to the finish line, its not just driving and keeping the car between the line, is damn hard work and flippen tiring, after a days racing i cant walk properly and im shyte tired and the next day im stiff as hell, and we only do about 24 laps a day.

I have been to Kyalami once where they had the f1 2-seaters (pimped up champ cars) and the sound of the cars is just mind blowingly loud! For a petrol head like me thats enough reason to sell my house and fly down to CPT and watch the race. :p
