I was once cross examined for half an hour re my witnessing a traffic accident, the issue being if I "meant" to say 15 or 50 metres. I pled with the judge to make the character move on, the judge ignored me.

Unlikely to have been an SC. However it sounds as if their line of questioning was aligned with the matter at hand, which is not generally the case with some of our esteemed members.

If you want useless attorneys though, look no further than administrators of estates. They don't produce walls of waffle, they just do nothing at all. Similar in a way to our beloved friend Phil-istine.

How convenient that we live in SA, currently one of the poorest examples of "democracy" and civilised-enough people wondering in the streets. By all means, let's base our theories on that, just when it suits us nog al.
