Brian_G will probably chime in when he's ready.

I know he has some interesting stats that we've covered over the years.

I get bored with the repetition, so I prefer to rip into the logical inconsistencies that keep being thrown up.

Great fun. :giggle::coffee:

Nah, really don't want to repeat history. I see even Wollie was given at least one list a couple of years ago, and puppy thing was also around then.

Except maybe... let's give them this 2-odd years old video...
(In it Phil mentions 81 secession attempts in the last 50 years :cool: - of course these guys will know better than a professional politician though)

Now that's it, leave me be. BYE

I don't think anyone would be too keen to swap their current pleasant lifestyle for a war zone, on a quest for a mythical new country.

What if the local Woolies got destroyed?

Defensive force? Is that the stupid you're going to adopt?
This tired old chestnut has seen better days.

I remember putting this one to bed.... but it's like the 800 sample in the polling that keeps coming up.

:laugh:

Can any of you cucked bootlickers give me an example of successful secession that involved violence, where the seceders were the aggressors?

p.s. And don't try the Fort Sumpter example because Lincoln had already threatened bloodshed in his inaugural speech as PotUS. March 4th vs April 12th.

Too tempting....... just where do you think your old country is heading, Mr. left-long-ago?

Poor Woolies aside, have some compassion for the future us.

(exits stage, for the final time)

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

That is so spot on for pinko Capetonians... 9/10 for that one, vigras.

It's doing better than if it was a war zone with no guarantee of improvement after a battle it would lose anyway.

Plus how would I buy a Woolies farm style pie on my visits if the Woolies was no more?

You said all it would take to put you in your place would be to name a peaceful secession.

So... ToxicBunny are you in your place yet?

😂

I heard that Melissa's coffee shop is no more. So it makes one even more dependent on Woolies fare.

IIRC Thrupps doesn't have a branch in Cape Town and I could hardly bring Fortum and Mason along with me.

Lex, never leave again. Thread was dead, now blooming with lotsa life again :thumbsup:

Peaceful? In the middle of ww2?
But you're also ignoring all the history and context prior to that to suit your special brand of stupid, as usual.

You're off your meds again.

South Sudan.

Next.
:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Wrong.

The seceders were looking to get away from the aggressors.

That what peaceful secession looks like.... i.e. they wanted to stop associating.

Initiating aggression requires associating with the target. Every instance of secession is about withdrawing association.

Think through the logic on that one.

The aggressors were the ones trying to prevent the withdrawal of association i.e. they were imposing their association.

Try again lexy.

Try again lexy.
The responsibility for a peaceful outcome, rests primarily in the hands of the motherland's government not the secessionists, since their only action i.e. withdrawing, is - by very definition - peaceful.

You can't withdraw, all the while inviting peaceful co-operation, AND simultaneously initiate aggression. That doesn't make logical sense, Spock.

It's very difficult to accuse someone of attacking you while they have their back to you and are walking away from you.

If you try to make that case, most people could be forgiven for thinking you're not quite right, upstairs.
