@Brian_G

I'm guessing he's blocked me since he doesn't respond to me.

He must surely be at least vaguely familiar with the list of secessions, going back to the end of WW2, at least.

So he's not asking for an example of a successful secession.

What example is he asking for then? Why can't he just be specific?

Some of us stopped posting or discussing that info as it was then abused - pulled apart any way it could be or joked about. Not going there again. He's a nice guy, but I can't be worried what he thinks of my statement. This news forum section is full of those who would just destroy.

I made a mistake today, got re-involved. Not worth it until Phil starts treating the need for real plans seriously, and quickly.
And I still believe this thread would be better suited elsewhere. Less could well be more in this case

Imagine asking someone for an example of liberation from slavery in the last 10 or 20 years, as though not being able to list one proved nobody has the right to individual liberty.

I mean how arbitrary is the question?!!

Anyone who needs this much hand-holding must be living in such a sheltered bubble, where the State takes care of his every need, ensuring he never has to exercise an ounce of critical thinking or moral judgement .... taking care of him, as they say, from cradle to grave.

Let him and the lost puppy be, they're clearly not interested enough to pay any attention to the world around them.

Notice the squeals of protest from brian and lexy after your post.

Not only do they contradict each other in the case of Brexit, Brian mentions a "secession every couple of years", and lexie refers to having to "read outside official sources".

Neither can post any links to any evidence though.

La-la land needs to secede from their brains first, I think.
Correct, it is really that simple. But @Brian_G and I had this dance before, and then to he failed to provide even the slightest bit of information. It really should not be this hard to provide the information.

All that is needed is:
  • A single country
  • that was split into 2 or more countries
  • through the act of secession.
I won't even mention that I looked well beyond official sources, because obviously I did not read their sources, which they will not disclose.

South Sudan has been mentioned before. It's not spoken about with too much enthusiasm though, coz reasons...🤔

I'm thinking this was meant to be a PM?

LOL at "not asking for an example of a successful secession"

@Brian_G

If someone is not prepared to reach for help - in this case to understand where others are coming from - it's usually because they're not ready for it.

That's okay with me. I'll wait until someone asks me a direct question. Until then I'll take it they just want to feign interest amongst themselves.

We have FAQs going back years. To get a list of successful secessions is really not that difficult. Maybe in the last 10 years with xyz other arbitrary, criteria 'needed'... but, really, it's just silly.

🤷‍♂️

So talk about it.. How is it an example of a peaceful bloodless secession that is recognized internationally.
Why are you looking specifically for an example in which the seceders didn't have to use defensive force against aggressors?

Did someone tell you you should never have to rely on your/your groups' own means of self-defense?

Who told you that porky?

Do you still look up to them for protection, like a little lamb?

Defensive force? Is that the stupid you're going to adopt?

Brian_G will probably chime in when he's ready.

I know he has some interesting stats that we've covered over the years.

I get bored with the repetition, so I prefer to rip into the logical inconsistencies that keep being thrown up.

Great fun. :giggle::coffee:
