Capitec Bank keeps fees unchanged

Why does CrApSA, Standard Crap, Nedcrap and First National Crap still exist? They have no point to even be with a brilliant bank such as Capitec around.

It's because of the shee.... I mean clients that love them so much! :D

Now, Capitec, all you need is a Credit Card/Cheque/Debit Card that can be used online, that is all I miss. At least local sites accept EFT, but it's a bit more problematic when it comes to overseas sites.

A Virgin money card in conjunction with a Capitec savings account is all you need.
Unless you need to write cheques.

Ooh, must investigate, this.

Did hear a rumour that Capitec are bringing out a Credit Card in April, but yeah, it's a rumour. Heh, and I appear to be spreading it, oh well, take note Capitec! :D.

I'm just wondering now. I still have some money left in my Absa account that I want to transfer to my new Capitec account but will it incur the 0.75c/R100 fee? So if I transfer R10k am I gonna pay a R75 fee? Ouch...

Your future savings will soon cancel out that R75. In less than one month if you're active.

What I like about Capitec is that it's the only bank with which I can still get some interest AFTER the monthly administration fee has been deducted. If they offered more facilities (like payments, the works), Capitec would be perfect.

Even my brother who has very little patience was very impressed with Capitec's efficiency at opening his account after he left our local Nedbank branch in a serious huff (the last straw was when he waited for two hours only for the banker to blink at him and say: oh, we didn't realise you were a client here)

I would switch really quickly if they had homeloans. The only reason I am sticking with ABSA is because they gave me the most affordable homeloan, and you have to have an ABSA account that your paycheck gets paid into.

I have one as well, and moved my accounts to Capitec.
My home loan is still with absa.

I think you may have the story wrong there.

That is what the lady told me when I signed the contract. I should check my homeloan contract then.

Capitec is the best. I knew when they came out I should have bought shares. really missed out. Internet banking is great. transactions are so fast.
Brilliant brilliant brilliant. And the best thing is I dont feel screwed any more.

No credit card? Deal breaker for me then. I don't use cash ever, except at flea markets and bazaars.

Making assumptions I see. I did have a look at virgin a while back. Also not a good fit for me.

But you didn't reply to be helpful did you? you wanted to be condescending rather. All I can say is good for you
