Hamster you just saved the Sunbird the cost of a Xmas card....
Lol ah the beauty of ebucks. Let's post some more ebucks funnies in here...Had a nightmare yesterday trying to use Checkers vouchers at House and Home.
Before we started I asked the sales person if I can use the Checkers vouchers at H&H, they said yes. Finished the shopping and went to pay, cashier says I need to go to Checkers to buy a gift card with the vouchers, then come back to H&H and use that to pay. Go to Checkers, load the vouchers onto the gift card, back to H&H and the voucher does not work. Told to wait awhile as it may still be transferring. Go do other shopping, come back an hour later, still not working. Go to Checkers and another 30min investigation done by nearly every staff member there, then told there is nothing they can do as they need to phone head office and as it is a public holiday, have to wait for today for them to solve it

Well, I ran my stuff on their site to get an approximate "cost" and capitec with a credit card will cost me about R100pm. That's R1200. The eBucks amount to R4800pa. Factoring in the 40% discount that's about R8000 pa.
More than a couple of X-Mas cards
EDIT: have to factor in actual bank costs: R8000 in eBucks - R3600 in bank costs... so I effectively score R4400 pa if I use my eBucks to it's full potential (which can be a schlep)
Indeed, but ebucks is the only thing that keeps me having FNB accounts. Since they pay for themselves and profit...
There's a few more on FNB that you may have missed. From the app you can buy prepaid electricity, various vouchers, renew your car licence, pay traffic fines, open new types of accounts, take out various insurance policies, apply for car and home finance, view details of your basic nett wealth etc. There's basically very little reason to visit a branch.I for one am not advocating moving over to Capitec. Both banks have their good points for me:
Capitec: no fees on airtime purchases, FNB: charges on buying airtime
FNB: can open an account online in a jiffy (just make sure they do your KYC, know your client), Capitec: Can't open accounts online (excluding the sub accounts)
FNB: can buy lotto tickers with app, Capitec: can't by lotto tickets
Capitec: finger print authentication, photo of you on their screen in branch and OTP not linked to your SIM number (if your app in offline) FNB: OTP linked to your SIM number (if your app in offline)
FNB: ebucks, Capitec: no ebucks

You're not alone.....
Well that and changing your account is a real pain in the ass wrt debit orders, salaries and a definite audit by SARS

Nope
SARS owed me money for the first time ever, I changed my physical address and switched banks... no audit
And those are on my Capitec account.
If there were no ebucks my FNB accounts would cost R151pm (well, R156.25 in incl Easy), while Capitec account + Nedbank CC + VM CC would cost me R80pm, so I'd close the FNB accounts (well, I'd probably keep my Easy account open).
Ebucks is great. Ebucks is awesome. Ebucks is life.
Will get me one at this price definitely.Initiation fee: R100*
Monthly fee: R35*
Oi! Let me stop you right there, sommer nib this in the bud right now.
"*is life" is trademarked.
Please do not use my phrase.
And you spelled Capitec wrong. It is spelled: Capitec is life.
