capitec vs fnb

Capitec all the way.

I have 4 debit orders, 1 stop order, 2 internet transfers and way too many swipes too count..... R21 bank fees for two months in a row. With that i have 4 extra free savings accounts for the rainy days.

Beats working out a plan on how to get ebucks back in return.

Ps i have a virgin money credit for emergencies

If you aren't looking for credit (home loans, vehicle finance etc.) then definitely Capitec - their interest rates on transactional accounts cannot be beaten or even closely matched.

Unfortunately their credit is too low to buy something like a house and is more along the lines of a personal loan (therefore much higher interest rates) - so for homes and cars.. you're gonna need to look elsewhere - unfortunately most of the big banks won't give you a 100% loan if you aren't a customer.

They have launched a new home loans service recently. I think they have partnered with SA home loans

Capitec are a low class bank. Make of that what you will.

You are probably a private client at one of the Big Four... I don't care what class a bank is, paying high fees is nonsense...

Can anyone tell me why Capitec global one doesn't work through Origin. Trying to buy games on Origin doesn't work, but on steam and any other online shop it works perfectly fine.

Probably a region lock on their site, if they accept paypal use that option.

I'm very happy with Capitec. I only wish they would hurry up with a good Android and iOS app, like FNB or Standard Bank. Using USSD menu's for banking is just annoying.

Ive had to reflash my phone a couple times last week... so now my Capitech app isnt linked to my internet banking anymore :( have to go to the bank to get it linked... what a pain.. Might just pick up one of those key chain things... if it saves me the hassle of going to the bank each time my phone gets flashed...

:( Now there's a real problem . Stanlib - proudly defrauding investors for more than 50 years.
Inform yourselves to save yourselves.
eg. http://www.iol.co.za/business/perso...uce-penalty-fees-of-34-1.1553533#.U5hB6vmLFpU

Its only a couple grand... Wasnt even my decision... :P Parents and grandparents put a couple of them together.. Come to think of it they haven't even linked my stanlib to my (sub)standard bank account yet....

Heard a lot of talk about Satrix...

Maybe you can avoid this by backing up the app data? I'm not quite sure.

Been a Capitec client for 4 years now and it is by far the best. R1,50 for internet payments, no charge for debit card payments, no problem with overseas purchases and used the card in England, France and USA without hassle. Have my UK pension paid into it without any local fees

Experience in the branch offices is a bit strange, but in 4 years I have only been there twice. With R4,50 a month fees, why not indeed. Compared to my 2009 trip to the UK, using a Capitec card earlier this year instead of Bidvest Bank's services was over R1200 cheaper

The number generator device works 100%
