I would just like some advice.

A car was driving in the 4th (Lane) had to suddenly break for the car infront and then the car spinned into the 2nd lane (My lane) and hit me on the right hand side.

Is the accident the other cars fault and will I be able to take her to court if the she doesn't wane pay? None of us has insurance.

Why would you even consider driving without insurance?
You make a mistake and drive into an exotic car, you're going to be paying for that for the rest of your life.

Advice on MYBB will obviously resolve any issues regarding not having insurance.

Maybe someone else will read it and save themselves from this situation. Third party insurance is cheap.
 
If you want to claim money via the courts, I assume that the other person has to be found guilty of reckless driving or something first?

Anyway...I don't understand why people don't have car insurance.

You can lawyer up and take her to court but it's not a cheap exercise and you're not guaranteed a win. School fees.

And paying to have cars fixed is damn expensive. Not to mention possible legal costs. Third party insurance as a minimum should be mandatory.
 
Eish - sorry for you. Prepare for a very expensive exercise now. Cheap monthly insurance would have had your insurer sort this mess out and for them to cover damages.

School fees I guess.

P.S: Why the hell do people drive without insurance?
 
yep you gonna have a bad time without insurance trying to get people to pay up.

You are going to battle to get money out of them to pay as they will probably just blame one another.
 
I'm going to hijack this thread and ask something on car insurance :

If you have nothing and you hot some exotic car and oew R500,000 - how would that work practically? The owner insurance would obviously pay upfront and the insurance company would just take what you can afford until debt covered?

Even R2,000pm would take 20+ years to pay that money off ...
 
Hope its been reported to the police first of all, if not you wont have a leg to stand on in court ...

That's not how it works.

You insurer normally covers you up to an X amount.
For example I am covered up to R5 million. So if I hit a Ferrari my insurer will cover all the repairs to his car. I will pay an excess (Normally a couple of grand) and that would be the end of the matter. (I may also be liable for the other guy's excess - not sure on that, though? )
This is also covered on 3rd party, Fire and Theft. That is the lowest form of insurance and normal less than R300 a month for. It's stupid not to have at least that cover on yourself.

We should make it law that idiot have to have insurance on their cars!! Cause you ****ers drive into us and then never pay!!!

Like in the uK - you have to have insurance, regardless if the car is on HP or not. Wish it was the same here.
