Car Audio recommendations

Just to throw a spanner in the works

There are reasons you dont find 6x9's at sound competitions. You will have a much better sounding system if you put splits up front and a sub in the boot.

For a mini 2 6inch splits up front and a 10 inch sub would sound awesome if you do a good install and buy qaulity components. If you like more rap and other music with lower bass notes a 12inch sub might be better.

With 6x9's you will always struggle with the sound stage and other issues.

Yah no I understand that... but I really just want some speakers.... without too much hassle and with it being semi decent

I'm not 20yo anymore and will sure as hell not compete in any sound competitions.

Im not saying you have to listen to it loudly Im saying it because it will deliver quality sound. Im no 20 something either and I really think you will regret it in the end. There are so many people that went down the same road and changed again once they relised their mistake. Have you gone past Hygrade? Im sure they can make some nice pods for the front at a decent price and give you good advice while you are there. Almost all of the big name cars with great sounding systems have a small sub hidden somewhere.

1) which size fuse do I need
- Ah, seems I first need to determine the amp, and see what it's usage is
2) recommendation on amp?

So...... about that amp

Just went to hi-fi corp.... geezus, I don't know how people can be allowed to sell items they don't know anything about. I mean, I'm pretty much a n00b, but that guy was just clueless.

Alrighty then... yes we back baby....!!

So, 1 year later, and have done absolutely faggal. But it's time...

So here is what I was thinking...

Basically the backseat is used maybe once every 4 months. So what I need/want to do is this:
- I basically want the setup to be flexible. Want to put some sub(s) in the back (where the back seat is), but when I need to carry people around, I want to be able to remove the box (or whatever) and put the seats back.

So if I want to put a boxed sub in there... and have the setup be flexible as above.... how do I do this?

Also, what do I run with sub? Basically want to put speakers in the backboard area. So:
- 6x9s?
- Split system?
- Coaxial?

Also, it being a mini, do I need to think about power output from my alternator?

Also want to use a tablet for the music... don't listen to radio at all, so don't need it. What would I need to take the music output to something like a amp/crossover/or whatever is necessary?

I have this

http://www.cadencesound.com/xlerator-8/

Just unplug a single plug to remove the sub when transporting.

So those Pioneer's have an output of 90W rms each... so I need to get a 2ch amp that can do about 140W per channel (applying the 150% rule I've read about)

does that sound right?

If I buy an amp that is less powerful than the speakers... i'm just wasting the speakers, right? And probably damaging the amp?

Good quality amps are under rated.
