DUDE'S...the easiest fix here pls?

It skips when going over bumps, when standing still its normal, all types of CD's it skips and then destroys them as well...can't even drive and listen to CD's, have to listen to radio...goign to fit RF punch sub and some US Amp soon!

Change the deck to one that has USB input and use a usb flash drive.

take it easy over bumps... some decks tend to do that...

Is this after you changed to the low profile 225/45/17 yokohamas? Nice wheels though!

Buy any car that's not an alfa :p

Hehe j/k my alfa-seat ibiza does that too, and has really hard suspension which doesn't help. If you're going to be putting better sound in the car it's recommended to upgrade the head unit as well. Preferably one with some sort of line out and for you some sort of memory/buffer on the cd player.

Have you changed the suspension or any other parts that made the ride firmer and more harsh ?

Sounds to me like you got a crappy deck. How old is it? In 2009 you should not be getting issues like this. Most decks are able to handle bumpy rides - they either come with shock absorption, or a read-ahead buffer, or both.

Toss your crummy old deck into the garbage pile, and get something new that can take USB or a memory card (mini-SD, micro-SD, or other). Memory cards are nice coz they small, and you won't notice them. USB sticks will stick out, and can get damaged if you knock them by mistake. Better still - get a deck that natively supports iPods.

Still the standard Alfa deck...mate has a GT deck, will ask him for a swop. i want to do the FR sub and amp install first then a nice Alpine deck, but in the mean time...I need this to stop. yes, got H&R springs...very harsh

...yes, got H&R springs...very harsh
erm.... and you still want to know why your CD player is acting up ?

A car is a highly balanced work of engineering. If you mess around with one thing you will disturb the balance of everything else.

ag please man...I've been in cars with coilovers dropped 100mm and still blasting music without a hitch.:p and the car is like a 1980's model Golf 2

my alfa has a cd shuttle ... only skips if the cd is dirty hey! never had it skip on bumps or bumpy roads :/

and while on the question haveing a sub close to a cd shuttle ? will this cause issues ?

Whats your point Alfaholic?
Golf2 > Alfa?

What's your point?:erm:Point is...mate has MK2 on coilovers lowered 100mm and his car goes on these bad roads we have and his tape deck does not skip, rendering Rouxenators argument of "harsh rides will obviously skip cd's" totaly untrue!
