Hi All.

Just found out a few days ago that we are expecting triplets. Still trying to get over the shock. We initially were told twins, but it's definitely 3!

Anyway, we have a Honda Jazz, which we thought would have been OK for 2, but know it isn't big enough for 3 critters with car seats and mass of accessories.

Does anybody have experience with having to transport 3 children, car seats etc and what car they recommend?

I haven't got tons of cash, for massive vehicles, but any tips, ideas and experiences will be welcomed.

Thanks!

Look at the Honda FRV. The space is great and I think u can pick them up at relative bargains. The second row seats are definitely wide enough for 3 baby seats but just check if it has isofix points in the middle or not.

Front can seat 3 people as well.

Oh... and congrats on the kids. Condolences on the loss of your time, sleep and spare cash

Thanks all.

Pockets are definitely not cheap. Budget is probably R150k. So haven't got too much option. I see a few FRV's going for a good price. I presume they are discontinued?

Kia Sedona 2.9 diesel 2010, there's lots of good second hands, you going to need the space

What about the Honda Mobilio? Although it makes me worry that they were only brought into the country for a few years, then stopped? Seen tons of them here in CT.

McLaren F1, they can take turns driving.

The Hyundai H-1 could be something to look at, but they are about R200 000 for used one on Autotrader (for the passenger version, not the cheaper panel van version).

Some older (2005 to 2009) VW Kombis also available in that price ranger, but generally more expensive for older vehicles than the above H-1 (2010 and newer).

Mercedes Vito? :)

VW Kombi (or whatever the new fancy name is) would also do the job.

Does the Chrysler Voyager still exist? I reckon that would have been perfect for this.

You could always sell the third one.

One a serious and very depressing note the delivery of twins nevermind triplets often goes wrong. Maybe it wouldn't be the cleverest idea to buy a car for three until three are actually a guaranteed factor. It's a harsh reality, but unfortunately the case.

Then again you can't go wrong with having too much space.

Could always do a very second hand Audi Q7 as well.

3.0TDI 7-seater should go for R150-R200k.

Didn't want to say this earlier but yes, in your court on this one. Besides, the triplets will in all likeliness be prem so you still have 1 to 2 months after delivery to settle on a car.
