Car interiors, which do you like most?

The B8 Audis are really not designed for ease of use.

I had to Google and read the manual how to do certain things on that climate control - and changing settings such as fan speed isn't the quickest/easiest. When it comes to air distribution I don't even know what the icons mean ...

The radio? It should have a LARGE volume dial - not the little one located close to the passenger.

Multi function whels? Needs a dedicated left/right and end/answer call
 
BMW and Mercedes has been in the game so long that you either love or hate how they do their interiors.

While Audi does not make nasty or cheap interiors, the quality is supurb, yet they do feel a bit "out classed" when you compare them to BMW and Mercedes. If they were priced better it would make sense. It is a pity we do not have the Insignia in SA because it under sells both the A4 and Passat yet it looks much better. Hence why I said the A3 does not look as good as the Astra inside.

See I would tend to disagree on the new Mercs, the old ones had fantastic looking interiors.

The new C-Class interior is HORRIBLE.

Agreed, I did not like the way it went in the W204 and it seems the new W205 is just further down that tangent.
 
I must say I always loved the Volvo interiors.

That floating centre console that you can hide stuff behind with all that aluminium trim is just awesome.
 
I think the new c-class interior is awesome. BMW is boring these days, just too bland.

Hate the handbrake on BMW 1,2,3 and 4 series. Only goes into electronic on 5 and above, as well as X ranges.

On an audi all the buttons and scrolls seem to move counter-intuitively, sort of like an inverted mouse.
 
Just btw, I stopped at a KIA dealership to look at the new models and the interiors on the newer luxury models are quite something. The Optima and the Cerato Koupe have pretty nice interiors when compared to their asian counterparts. They would easily top some of the lower end German cars...
 
Early model Defender.

Nothing more than a hosepipe needed to do an entire interior clean.

Um Kia is Asian? You mean when compared to other Asian manufacturers?
 
Their interiors and cars are designed by an ex-Audi engineer. Many Koreans companies do that now, the reason the i20 looks a lot like the Corsa is because Hyundai Europe is right next to Opel in Russelshein, Germany.

The reason Kia's stopped being so hideously ugly was that they hired the designer of the golf and various other VAG's.
It was the best move they could have made.

The whole "retro" thing is a bit retarded. If you want something that looks like a classic Benz, buy a classic Benz. It's not the 1950's anymore. And it's not just toys like the C-class either, the grown-up Benzes (S-class) are also messed up:

At least they're still nowhere near as bad as American cars, or Nissan.
 
I do not like the extended single binnacle, it looks like something that belongs in a Ford Bronco. My preference is a single binnacle with the speedometer and tachometer right in front of the driver about the width of the steering wheel and what ever other displays there need to be can go to the centre console - not in a binnacle. Like the 2012 XF Jag or Insignia.
