Have to agree, except the TT and maybe one or two other models they have rather upmarket yet tasteless interiors. The red lighting just does not work at all.

Not a big fan of their interiors, I'm mean they not bad and having lived and owned quite a few Renault's I've learned to appreciate them for what they are but one thing they did nail was the location of the hazard light on switch.
The only time I've ever had to use the hazard lights is under hard breaking on the highway and its location is just so natural and intuitive, I'm able to hit it without thinking or looking...

Oh, I know what a DS looks like.
Their cars would likely rather have had Wellington plates, but it's possible. My uncle owned, until quite recently, what was known as one of the best regularly driven examples of the SM in existence. He still does drive a CX, I believe, and him and his sons have had various immaculate DS and Pallas models over the years.
