Car reverse sensor

Greetings Guys,

One of my friend has his car fitted with a nice car reverse sensor,i will like to fit the same to my car,sonic sedan,am not owning the car as it is financed through the bank,what are the risk of fitting such more especially regarding insurance company as these car reverse sensor are mostly are from china,can i get an authorised person to fit them?my friend says he bought them around R 250.00 and some person, not accrediated installed it for him.

yes genetic those ones(park distance control,i thought they are called that.
 
I wouldn't mind one for the front of my captiva - it's only got them in the rear :o
 
I also only have ones in the rear, Chev Cruze LT. Would have liked it in front also though but it wasn't a option.
 
Nobody on the manufacturing side will worry if the car has been retrofitted with PDC, as long as they are not el cheapo's which short the wiring out every time you hook it into reverse, then you will have the wrath of god on your head, as well as no more warranty! ;)

They are only fitted to the front if you are an Indian driver in Durbsnall, and drive with your seat lowered so you cannot see over the dashboard! :p

Why have front ones FFS - don't you look out of the windshield? :wtf:
 
My wife is petite, she scares me when she wants to park close to the kitchen wall:banghead:
 
My car has aftermarket rear PDC fitted. The type that doesn't need holes in the bumper. Works pretty well actually. It doesn't affect insurance / bank finance. Just double check with your warranty cover. If the system burns the wiring harness or causes a massive short - warranty won't pay.

make and model of the PDC and where did you buy it?

Tell me about it - forward… forward… forward… bump - handbrake up. :o That said it's hard to judge in the captiva even for me.

They came fitted.

There are some vehicles that is standard fitted with front and back PDC.

New Hyundai Sonata is one, if I remember correctly.

Some of us dont need the front PDC :D the rear ones are more than enough hehe.
Also the new i30 could do with ones in the front, drove my sis' and the hood slopes quite a bit (the seat wasn't lowered lol )
 
The top end Rio's have them in the back.

It would be convenient to have them in the front as well, as I can't see the end of the bonnet. But honestly, I just park carefully. So it's not a complete necessity.

They are really though. While I don't completely trust them, it's nice to know they're there, just in case.

If I were the OP, I'd make sure whatever he plans on doing won't void the warranty.
