Car tech that's become must-have

I guees it's one of those things where everybody thinks of it differently.

Android Auto.
I use andriod auto everytime when going out of town for maps. I actually won't buy a car these days if it does not include Android auto.

Reverse camaras.
Not eseential but it is nice to see exactly how far away I am from something behind me.
The beeping only is also very good for that.

So a very nice to have for me.

Keyless.
Yeah, I can go without it.

I like to know where my keys are and it's a bit annoying because I place my keys many times where my house keys are and then forget the car keys in the car.

Just to realise the car won't lock when pressing the button on the door handle.

Adaptive cruise control with
lane keep assist.
Very nice to have the car moans when you are not holding the steeing wheel tight enough.

It's also fantastic for the car to just break for other cars infront and match their speed.

I just keep my setting to hold the furthest following position which is far enough for me to also react if something else foes wrong.

It's also unfornately far enough for the ahole drivers to get into the gap because they cannot wait for the car in front of me to just pass somebody at normal speed.
ROTFLMAO!

How about just learning to drive properly? I mean, if you can't even control your vehicle properly without aides you shouldn't even be allowed behind the steering wheel!

Yes. Because people don't know it's dark and time to put on headlights. Also, people don't know it's raining and must switch on wipers.
People = Idiots.
I'm sure if sarcastic or you're really unsure of how to think?

Look at that stupid moronic bubble you live in, you assume that somebody who uses technology to make life easier cannot drive properly.

You are confused about keyless entry and keyless start.

I can’t do without both. Once you have it, removing your remote from your pocket/ some guys have manbags becomes very annoying :)

I fully agree. It's amazing when I do not actually remove my key from my pocket.
I just need keyless house keys then my problem will be solved.

Agreed - it's just the natural progression of technology and making things easier, simpler, better and more efficient for us.

Why an automatic? We can manually change gears
Why fuel injection? We can just use a choke
Why electric windows? We can just wind them
Why climate control? We can just turn up/down temperature manually

Take it to other technology :

Why UHD videos? 1080 was enough
Why Dolby Atmos sound? Mono was enough
Why PS5? PS4 was enough
Why 5G? 4G was enough
Why WiFi 7? Wifi 6 is enough

Oh look! A millennial.

Complacent, and lulled into a false sense of security - and more likely to cause a serious accident.

The mod-cons are supposed to assist you and not replace your senses, especially common sense. If you cannot drive a car without them (and I know quite a few, and have seen far too many, that can't) you should not be driving at all.

@Supervan II doesn't need technology

A flower that doesn't grow in every garden.

Power steering, aircon, central locking and electric windows for me thanks
Let me answer for @Tabac and @Supervan II

Power steering - just turn the steering wheel harder ?
Aircon - just open the window for a cool breeze
Central locking - no need - each person can unlock their own door. If there are no people, you probably don't need it locked or unlocked. In the small case you do, just lean over ?
Electric Windows - Just wind them up & down ?

Power steering only. I learned to drive on a car with nothing else and now it feels weird driving a car with screens and settings.

Yeah, no, big no from me.

Why drive? When you have... the walk

Only real must have in this shthole is tyres with a very thick/high profile to protect against the potholes.

I like the blindspot detection lights on mirrors. I feel it should be a standard feature on all cars. So few people check blindspots, and even that is a hazard because you look back in front and a taxi just stopped.
