Car value calculator

Easiest just to phone a dealer & get the book value. Every now & again a website pops up where you can do it, but TransUnion aren't too fond of the details being in the public domain. The sites either change to a paid-for service, or get closed down altogether.

I know that it probably is the easiest way, but having sold cars for a few years, do you know how bloody irritating that is?

The guy has no intention of buying from you, and whilst you are scratching around in your book, every other sales person on the floor is getting genuine calls!!!!

Anyone know a good site where i can calculate the current value of my car ?

thanks

Isn't there some kind of crystal you can use? Perhaps a medium or a diviner could help you out with this?

You need to go back to Sales School. You should be able to convince the guy calling to buy a car from you or you ought to be fired. Just kidding but that's what the bosses say.

Suddenly the list prices of Used Cars seem to have gone up by 10% to 15%. I know interest rates have gone down, but at least give the recovery a chance before trying to strangle us consumers.

Fazda, yes I know that very well... and for the same reason. :p Don't waste the oke's time, tell him beforehand that you just need a price, and all's fine.

Oh, and Beginner - nice find. Wonder how long that site will be up for! :erm:

Is this right?
I can make R30k+ on my car if those numbers are correct...

Thanks for the link, will be handy as I am also looking for a new car and a trade-in.

What is the ave. current interest rate offered by the finance houses? 15%?

Say what? It should be prime (or prime -1 or prime +1) depending on your credit profile. Prime is 10.5%

Nonononono....back in the real world where people simply walk into a car showroom and ask for finance, they are very often charged Prime plus 4 if they are good, and worse than that if they don't argue........Webank, Stannic et al have survived on the Prime + 4 ++++ deals for ever!

Are you pulling my leg? Who would agree to prime +4? Is that for deals with no deposit?

I kid you not!

Take a walk down to Lindsay Saker Alberton and ask the lady from Wesbank what she considers a well structured deal...

I sold cars "under" her deals and many people who are bordering on "frot" will think that they have died and gone to heaven if they get P+4

The last 2 cars I financed through BMW Finance (with 50% deposit) at prime less 1. The finance started in 2004 and ended in 2008.

For my next car, I've got pre-approved finance with Standard over the net but they did not specify the interest rate. They'd better not pull any **** like that with me.
