Does anyone buy from Carbonite?

If so what was your experience? I am thinking of hunting down some second hand bargains

Yes, seems like people do buy from Carbonite :erm:
 
Yup, you can find some good deals there.
Bought & Sold a couple things over the years.

I meant here, I know its a popular site... wanted to know bad experiences etc
 
Always check out a guys I trader before you buy. I sourced most of my items on carbs for my first build. Great forums, the guys are very helpful.
 
Do it!

And I second DenzNatz. I will never part ways with my cash for a shipped item if the guy has a really low iTrader, for example.
 
Love it! It's a great resource for tech obsessed folk to buy/sell/swap goods!

With the rating system they got going, the likelihood of being scammed is small, a lot safer than BoB, Gumtree, Junkmail etc

Stick to the basics IE COD and meet at a neutral venue and you good to go..

I would to buy there instead of here. there is no itrader here. not that itrader is fool proof. people wouldn't want to mess up their itrader since bad itrader means no deals on carb.

True, although I wouldn't have a problem buying from a BB regular. I wouldn't expect to be scammed by someone who's been a member for the best of 7 years and has a post count in excess of 12k for example... :p
 
Bought many many a things on there, always had a good experience. I usually only buy from members with +10 itraders and have actually been on the forum for a long time. Got some great deals :)
 
Have been using Carbonite for years, actually since before it was Carbonite (old Prophecy forums days). Most of the old crowd are great guys, and it's an awesome place to buy and sell without worrying as much about safety as Scamtree and the like.

Bunch of CUD addicts, rep system helps a lot, because you know other people were happy trading with them so the chance of it being a scammer is much less.

Sure things can go wrong, but the percentage of that happening is very low.
Bought quite a few stuff there in the past few months and they were really good deals. For instance oculus rift DK1 for R2000

That place is addictive. Had a lot of impulse purchases over there.
Take note of iTrader though. In the early days I jumped too quick at a "too good to be true" deal that cost me just over R4k.
