Today in my Long Beach medical marijuana (cannabis) office I evaluated a 60 year old man who has been suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. He explained that he gets a burning sensation in his right hand and also has pain with any type of wrist movement that involves flexing his wrist. The pain is most pronounced in the evenings and at night and it has caused significant problems with sleeping. He has been using cannabis successfully for the past 2 months and wanted to receive a physician recommendation so he can safely access medicine to treat his symptoms.

have a look at methotrexate.. Used mostly in cancer treatment , it does have other applications as well.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methotrexate
Adverse effects
Possible side effects can include anemia, neutropenia, increased risk of bruising, hair loss, nausea and vomiting, dermatitis and diarrhea. A small percentage of patients develop hepatitis, and there is an increased risk of pulmonary fibrosis where dry cough can be an important sign.[citation needed]
The higher doses of methotrexate often used in cancer chemotherapy can cause toxic effects to the rapidly-dividing cells of bone marrow and gastrointestinal mucosa. The resulting myelosuppression and mucositis are often prevented (termed Leucovorin "rescue"- as this is the folic acid based drug used).[citation needed]
Methotrexate is a highly teratogenic drug and categorized in Pregnancy Category X by the FDA. Women must not take the drug during pregnancy, if there is a risk of becoming pregnant, or if they are breastfeeding. Men who are trying to get their partner pregnant must also not take the drug. To engage in any of these activities (after discontinuing the drug), women must wait until the end of a full ovulation cycle and men must wait three months.[citation needed]
Reports of central nervous system reactions to methotrexate especially when given via the intrathecal route which include myelopathies and leucoencephalopathies. It has a variety of cutaneous side effects, in particular when administered in high doses.[9]
Generally, the more "non-specific" action a pharmacological substance has, the more possible side effects can be expected. Methotrexate has, like all "cell toxic" substances, a broad array of possible adverse effects. Care should always be taken to read the manufacturer's original instructions for the preparation in question.[citation needed]
Here is a more thorough list of potential side effects for Methotrexate:
[edit] Most frequent
Ulcerative stomatitis, leukopenia, nausea, abdominal distress.[citation needed]
[edit] Other frequent
Hair loss, malaise, undue fatigue, chills and fever, canker sores, dizziness and lowered resistance to infection.[citation needed]
[edit] Other rarer reactions
(related to or attributed to Methotrexate) nodulosis, vasculitis, arthralgia/myalgia, loss of libido/impotence, diabetes, osteoporosis, osteonecrosis, sudden death, reversible lymphomas, tumor lysis syndrome, soft tissue necrosis, anaphylactoid reactions.[citation needed]
By organ system:
[edit] Alimentary system
Anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; Gingivitis, pharyngitis, stomatitis, hematemesis, melena, gastrointestinal ulceration/bleeding, enteritis, pancreatitis.[citation needed]

[edit] Central nervous system
Headaches, drowsiness, blurred vision, transient blindness, speech impairment including dysarthria and aphasia, hemiparesis, paresis and convulsions. Occasional reports of transient subtle cognitive dysfunction, mood alteration (depression), unusual cranial sensations, leukoencephalopathy, encephalopathy.[citation needed]

Then make some cookies or something; No dig at Wimhotep, but just look at the list of rather scary looking side-effects to that drug they mentioned - Nevermind that, even bloody too much Myprodol can be dangerous.
Just saying... It's absurd to not use something that could really help, but rather to take things that are possibly dangerous, what sort of mad world is that?
You need some anti inflamatory drugs, maybe myprodol together with something like Coxflam (but that has to be prescribed - not the myprodol). You could also try some light exercise, it also usually helps with carpal tunnel.
well I got myprodol and it did not really help. the odd thing is it took the pain away from my right hand (the worst) and not the left hand?? I think I will have to get some anti inflamatory on monday.
Myprodol contains Ibuprofen, an anti-inflammatory.
I'm pushing for you to try the cookies. Call me a hippie.![]()
