What a pity that the voting masses were not able to vote - or see the program.

My yuppie neighbours were having yet another noise fest ( 3rd weekend in a row) totally oblivious. Even if the power went out the noise would continue because it's coming from the BMW's sound system that you and I paid for with our taxes.
 
marine1; you didn't have a very good opinon of Africa to start with :)

dunno how you can say that it's reinforcing it cause you alone are ready to rip some heads off and shyte down some throats :D

When people do not keep an eye on their leaders, they should not complain when their leaders lead them to disaster.

Marine1 just voices his opinions too vehemently and emotionally, at times.
He is however, on occasion, spot on.
This is one of those times - let him have his moment. :D

True but IMO they couldn't care less about S.A heading towards disaster but they've got their money and power. As Africa has shown time and again that there is a huge wealth gap in almost all the countries. A minute fraction of super rich and the rest live in absolute poverty. Driving around in BMWs while everyone around them is living in sewage fulled shacks.

It seems nobody treats an African worse than their fellow African :o

I was speaking to my mom today and I said:

"This situation is now as bad as we all said it would get - probably worse.
And, to be honest, a lot of us 'exaggerated' a bit - and we, in the back of our minds, knew we were. It is human nature to exaggerate both failures and successes. However, even then, we still did not foresee this much of a disaster"

I'm sorry to say but this IMO is only the begining. There is still a long way to go. In my mind there was no doubt this would happen and there is still no doubt it will get far worse. :(
 
Gosh this is soooo sad....

Makes sense what Carte Blanche was saying in between the lines. Eskom (state) refusing to pay price for coal and transport thereof, so the coal mines either supply lowest quality (useless) coal, or don't supply at all. If they supply, Eskom cannot transport it, 'cos they are paying slave labour prices. According to "Dr Steve", that is their policy.

Answer for Eskom - load shed the public so they pissed off enough to be relieved when mines shut down and we get power with no load shedding, then cut off the mines (those that use/purchase coal, including the sasol plant so that the coal mines cannot sell anywhere else) and cut off 6 out of the 9 coal mines. Force them to supply Eskom coal at below cost?

Sounds like a dictatorship to me... Did they learn it from Mugabe?
