Is it me but does Cash Crusaders make you feel like a bum when you try to sell something there. Someone I know went to sell some stuff they had lying around and they got the "you are desparate scum" vibe from the buyers. Cos they treat everyone who comes in as "desparate".

Way back I went to sell some junk with a former colleague and they made me us feel like a bums. Inspite of the fact that they were advertising at the time that you can bring goods for cash and cash for goods and they showed a husband and wife on TV casually selling stuff, and I think the husband sold the wife too.

They made it seem normal but when you get there its a different story and attitude.

I was thinking why don't people wait outside the buying offices and stop people and ask them what they are selling and buy it from them instead. These places offer peanuts anyways. Someone who has a lot of capital to buy stock could get a lot of stuff by intercepting people before they go and and cash crusaders couldnt stop anyone from doing this. Imagine if you park outside with a sign saying "I buy console games" and you offer R10 more than what cash crusaders does. hehe

I've seen them selling 2nd hand stuff for more than the price of a new one.

I tried to sell them new boxed appliances (big stuff) once I had lying around. They offered me peanuts in relation to value and I told them to get lost as I would rather give the stuff away to people I know than sell it to them. They called me a about 3months later to make me a better offers as they obviously came to the conclusion that I'm not desperate, told them again to get lost.

Yup i wanted to sell a couple pc games, 3 month old pc games they offered me 20 bucks.

I looked at the oke and just walked out, would rather let them sit on my desk than sell em for 20 bucks, geez.

I hate these shops. Their prices are stupid. They would rather have something sit on the shelf gathering dust for a year than reduce it to reasonable levels.

Lol the guy I went with got so upset that he said he will think about it. He apparently went back with a hammer from the workshop and smashed the stuff up by the buyer including an a working phone that was at worth at least R1000 second hand.

It is better to just give the stuff away considering the prices they give and then how much they sell the stuff for.

Btw if you wanna get rid of games try trading them through game trading stores, theres even an online one. Cant remember the link tho

I went in brand new, tagged (unworn) with a Seiko watch worth R600.00

Firstly the guy told me it was worth R1800.00 - to which I started smiling because I'd score on it. He then said although it's worth R1800.00 he's only be able to sell it for R900 ... and give me R200 :/

I just walked out.

Yeah, I tried to sell my old 74cm TV to these scum. They 1st ask how much you want ?
and then offered me a R100 anyway.

Sold it to my security guard for R300. Included remote.

That actually happened to me once in Centurion. Made quite a killing that day! Cash Converters were a bit upset at this!

that are the worst... i remember one time we were in dire straits so we had to sell some stuff and they literally gave us peanuts for the stuff but i'm sure if you had to go look what it cost on the shelf it was most probably 4x the price they paid...

I think that those shops should not exist i'd rather goto a real pawn shop than to cash convertors.

They would most probably pay you R2.50 for a R10 note if they could...

my ex-neighbour (a shop-a-holic0 used to buy like 20cds on payday, and then regret her purchase but could not take it back to the store she bought it from, so took 'em to cash converters, and they offered her r10-20 per disc, and that was with her showing the tillslip

only thing i have ever sold there was an old crt 14" screen, got r300 for it - that was the time that lcd screens just came out

Aah good old porn shops where you can go and get yourself a fap-pachino
