Cast-iron pans

Aah right, no I can’t leave my kitchen like thar overnight.

Also, a general query: Does anyone know where I can find hooks to mount my pans to the wall?

I’ve seen these at Builders actually…bizarrely in the bathroom type section where it’s a sort of rail with holes in and the hooks you can then move around.

What kind of setup did you have in mind? A rail with some adjustment or like an individual hook per pan?

You’ll probably find the latter in the bathroom sections labelled as a towel hook.
 
Thought this might interest some. The red is a oblong skillet le creuset did for a while, i missed out on it initially and they brought it back for a short bit .
the green one is a now discontinued 30cm its big enough to cook for four at same time with ease, i have done 7 eggs at once in it. The 26cm inside it for reference.

In the plainest of terms to make it go to liquid.

Then you can do with it as you want but in most cases you are going to cook with it then and there and then save what’s left for re-use.

Which is why Rantz said he started with a cold pan because you do this at low heat so that it intentionally doesn’t crisp up but instead just reaches it’s melting point and then releases into the pan.

Hmm... Will have to give these a look. Problem is that if the hook fails and pans fall, the cast iron will probably be OK, but whatever it falls onto is gonna have a bad time.

I mean the hook shouldn’t fail, it’s how it mounts that matters so you’ll need a good look at it in person.

That being said some of this modern sellotape can handle 60kg…but I’m not going to test that.
 
So I wasn’t smoking my socks.

Just got the Bread Oven for Father’s Day and the booklet makes it pretty clear to avoid soap and hand wash if at all possible.

They also add some credence to our logic of drying it on heat after washing.

Yeah but not on the regular.

And the thing is if you don’t use it on the regular you pretty much never ever need it.

And while they don’t outright say don’t use the dishwasher they do make it quite clear it will have an effect.
