Cast-iron pans

I made some beeswax cast iron seasoning sticks. Don't have or use cast iron pans so can't test them or even know what to look at to determine how well they work.

I can give a few away if you collect here in Somerset West or if you book a Pudo locker pickup at R60 and I can send one.

Need some feedback on how effective they are before adding it to my range or have labels printed.

Are they or pure or a blend of beeswax and other oils? If a blend what other oils are you using?

I like her cooking but her 'edgy' attitude in every video gets annoying.

Pro cooks are pretty much going to be bonded with SS since they get chucked to the dishie at the end of service and don't need any special care really. Not to mention she's a woman so the heavy weight of the cast iron is going to be a pain over long periods of time or cooking multiple dishes a day.

I have both. No real preference over which to use.

Is she only on Instagram?

heres one for cheap

you not using it as a resturant

I bought this (well, something in R300 range) and returned it as it is useless. It is actually very lightweight so not worth the trouble. My mom used to have one very heavy one and it was perfect but no idea what happened to that one since she passed away. Probably one of my cousins took it from our house.

Got one of these chainmail scrubbers as a gift, works nice when there's something really stuck on there. Far from necessary tho.

I have one too, but honestly the back flat plastic piece of my brush is much easier.

The chain mail that is wrapped around a silicone rectangle "sponge" works much much better.

I’m not even going to skip the baking paper when I make tortillas. The surface is just too rough.

Sounds messy.
oops meant tortilla

sorry i meant tortilla which you want to do anyway :p

Get massa harina from azteca to make it properly

the warmer is critical for steam we use a small enamel dish

Keen for some more detailed feedback regarding the press when possible.

It's still on my want list but is costly locally for a niche item that I'd use only a few times a year.
I ordered my first press off Takealot and, despite it claiming to be cast iron, it was clearly cast aluminium. I tried it and unsurprisingly, it sucked.

I was in the US for a couple of months so I ordered the 8" Victoria one off amazon for about $25.

Yeah, it's niche and TBH I'm probably going to use it more for burgers than tortillas, but it's useful to have.

Assuming it's actually cast iron the Azteca one Snyper564 linked to looks good enough though surprisingly they specifically say not to attempt flour tortillas... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you have any questions re the Victoria I bought feel free to ask.
