Hi

Yes and no tried the V3 last year, first attempt V4. We have all the equipment at the office to study on just wish they would give us the time to actually sit and do some labs. Busy will al the video's and notes and then hand's on from there.

very few places give you the time to lab. The only answer is to get up early and lab in the mornings and then lab in the evenings if you can.
Its a sacrifice, but there isnt really any other way.

good luck!

Anyone else looking at getting stuck into this Certification? I am currently preparing for the written and looking at doing the 5 day boot camp with Ipexpert next year May before the lab. Also working through the INE Version 4 workbook as prep for the lab. Estimated 500 hours lab time. Currently mainly focused on the written as there is a huge amount of theory to cover. Booked 4 days study leave before writing the written.

Congrats Eclipse whats next for you now?

I am busy with my CCNP Routing & Switching and really loving the challenge.

Starting a Study group...with some international members (Mainly UK and Russia members timezone reasons). Aiming on taking the Mobile lab next year in May but people also looking at Aug is welcome! We will be working through workbooks from INE and Narbik for prep. Any serious people welcome. Please PM me.

Passed my CCIE Security Written exam today :D

Congrats man!

Heard its a really hard exam if you havent got CCIE R&S. Know a guy who is struggling..

On a different note i passed my CCDA a few weeks back.

Thanks and congrats on the CCDA. It really helps if you are planning to do CCNP R&S as it covers a lot of the recommended best practices.

I regret not doing my R&S first, i spent a lot of time going over things that should have been second nature to me.
Its not a train smash, but it did slow down my studying. The track almost assumes you are very sharp at R&S for security.

Yeah as I am getting into the real meat of my prep you need a strong grasp on R&S concepts. I am using the Ipexpert LAB prep VOD series (helps a heap with understanding concepts better). Got it for $99 on a black friday sale at IPexpert ( saved $400).

I am pretty confident about my studies. Putting a lot of extra time in understanding the concepts properly. Also working throught the INE workbooks now. Then will do the Narbik ones after that. Helps when you have a bunch of CCIE R&S guys in your study group though :P :D

Good group guys, lots of help and info, passed my CCNP switch exam on Tuesday :) One more to go "Tshoot" and you will see me posting in this thread more often :)

I see there are a few prelim bookings for the Lab in August. Anyone here taking the CCIE Security lab anytime soon?
