CCMA and disputing a warning

After 12 years there the best you could do for yourself is start applying for a new job with better prospects.
By year 5 I'd have left already. Valid point. I find that talking to people about their sh1tty mindset does nothing but make ammo for them to get rid of you eventually. Remember its not usually the case of you being the problem. Very often I find its the people who run the company that are absolute arseholes. I've just learnt after many times round the bush, to spot them and to ask the right questions and make the correct observations at interview stage.

I stopped drinking at work functions about 7 years ago...

Avoid this type of fun...

They gave you free booze, which in turn got you talking a little ****, and then give you a warning......sounds like entrapment, to me.

I've got an invite to next years bash as a colleagues +1 :)
I'd decline any opportunity that could land you in a similar situation were I you. Just in case you're still there for the next 12 months. Some shady employers can hold previous transgressions against you even when they mustn't.
