cd stops spinning when trying to install windows!?!

..still like to know the easiest way to format the c:without the windows disc?..

1. USB boot on flash
2. Stick hdd in other PC
3. Old school floppy format. :(

How sure are we that it's not the PSU not coping with the load? I'm sure CDs take a decent amount of juice to spin up to full speed.
 
Ok, this thing won't even boot off a floppy (no option in the bios), won't boot from usb, ..EVERY time it starts to load up the cd, it gets to the asr system rcovery thing after the raid/scsi driver part, and then reboots!

Pls Anyone!?!
 
Try making a BOOTABLE CD with Windows on it. It must be able to boot from CD with the boot order changeable from the BIOS.
 
Anybody know a place I can take this piece of cr@p to to be fixed/trouble shot..???
That won't charge ridiculously!...???
 
put it together myself, ram n board hav already been fir testing an apparently are fine.. A local pc guy came over once, but he couldn't solve it either..
!@#$!!!!!

Ey if ur implyin that it's my bad, then I'll jst mention that I am certified, somewhat ;), .and built the pc that I'm using right now..
But wotevs I spose.

Fixed that for you.

The problem can be almost anything.
1. Does this CD boot on another machine, and go through the whole installation?
2. Have you updated the BIOS and CD/DVD drives firmware?
3. Have you swapped the memory with those of a different machine?
4. Have you tried putting the hard drive into another machine, install it to a basic level, then put it into the original machine and install the drivers?

Basically, just go though every possible hardware, remove what is not needed to run the PC (extra sound card, 2nd HDD, 2nd DVD writer, etc). It might be a simple BIOS version issue.

Good luck with the faultfinding process.
