Looking at replacing our old ceiling fan before December, any recommendations that can be made?

Requirements
- as quiet as possible
- needs to cool pretty decently (I am aware its not an aircon)
- needs a light as well
- budget happy to pay for quality

What happen to the R400 models?
You're not living in 2011 anymore? Like in 2011 I bought an R800 one that now is about R1500 and a R400 one which is R800, but I did find a R570 for my sons room, it's relatively quiet and it being cheap not to worried if he breaks it. But his uncle already broke the lamp shade by pushing to hard when changing the light bulb.

Whichever you get, just add a few more hundreds and add a sonoff ifan03 with remote. Have them running on all my fans and they way more convenient being able to control from app and google/alexa etc

Weird euphemism

If you want cheap and good, check this out:

We bought 2 of them about 3 or 4 years ago. They work well, are nicely balanced and are fairly quiet. They push a good amount of air through. They are both still on the original remote batteries (that were not included...)

That is what I've got in my bed room and you're correct it does push a lot of air and the remote is cool

These are excellent.

Bright Star - 4 Blade Ceiling Fan With Extendable Blades & Light available to buy online at @TAKEALOT We offer fast, reliable delivery to your door. https://www.takealot.com/bright-star-4-blade-ceiling-fan-with-extendable-blades-light/PLID53189485

Also the built-in remote unit is a direct copy of the Sonoff iFan so very easy to make it smart as well.

The actual fan and motor is whisper quiet and the mounting also makes no noise, all you hear is the air moving.

When the fan isn’t on it’s literally invisible.

The only annoyance I have is that the light comes on in cycles of Cool White, Warm White, Both and you need to flip between them every time.

Does it have a fair amount of air flow ?

Very much so. I never use the 3rd setting because it’s too much actually.
Do you have the takealot model? Seems like some of these have low airflow yours might be the perfect one then if it's alot.

When u say copy, do you mean the housing of the remote receiver?

Yup it’s identical so you can easily swop them out without having to worry if it will fit.

The “canopy” is designed for it to slot into.
