Cell C’s latest subscriber numbers

That is all good and well, but the question is what has it done to its bottom line which AKC does not divuldge.

Time will tell.
 
Cell C.....if you pay my cancellation fee with MTN (only a few months remaining) then I will switch over to you straight away and contribute thousands of Rands to your bank account each year.....better you than MTN not?
 
700 000 new customers a month - cool.
Keep up the good pricing and you will get there. Cell-C FTW!
 
I have a Vodacom contract & I love the Hotspot feature on my old Vodafone 858 with a Cell C sim transmitting cheap data to my Galaxy S3. :D

Will never buy a Vodacom data bundle again unless they drop their prices lower than the current Cell C pricing.

Just waiting for my contract to end, and unless the other operators can come close to cell c's data offerings I'm moving over
 
i) AKC, please don't betray our trust. The MyBB crowd has been cheering you on over the last few months. Keep up the good service and the price war.
ii) Does CellC have a rep. on MyBB forums? Maybe they should lure over @jannievanzyl?

700000... that's pretty damn impressive! Let's see how long the growth continues... VC and MTN are watching and must have a threshold at which they'll respond aggressively. I think the longer VC and MTN remain silent, the more aggressive they'll be when they react.

I am on Cell C myself but I find that figure of 700 000 a little unbelievable as well.
 
Cell C had 8.2m customers at the end of June 2011. If we assume that the above 9.4m customers was at 30 June 2012, then they added a net 1.2m customers in 12 months or a net 100,000 a month. That must mean 600,000 customers are leaving every month :/

Vodacom added a net 2m customers in the 3 months between 31 March 2012 and 30 June 2012 (SA only).
MTN added a net 1.5m customers in the 6 months to June 2012 (SA only)

So looking at net customers added (on an annualised basis), Cell C are adding 1.2m a year, Vodacom 8m and MTN 3m then Cell C are going quickly backwards...

It's only been a measly few months since CellC's awesome new deals have been announced. Give it time, many people are running their current MTN/VC contracts out before moving.
