Cell C 3G

Guys....I am very confused and dont understand. According to the Huawei website, the E1820 modem does not support 900mhz HSDPA. How can Cell C be launching with this modem?

I share your Opinion as well ...............Rather Strange since the Specs say one Thing and Cell-C another.

The Modem is already being used, and used for a while now :)

E1820 does, its the manufactures website that's not update. Im using it and its a E1820
 
Well funny enough Cell C 3G has good coverage from what I see in my area.
My friend in Verulam picked up Cell C 3G on his 2100 device thou

(And as I read somewhere Cell C would deploy 2100 in various places)

Not according to their press releases and on the www.telltrevor.co.za website. Their entire 3G network is being rolled out in the 900mhz band, only in some areas will 2100mhz be used to add additional capacity.

CELL C 3G for most sites are ready, pre-commercial test will be carried out in the middle of august in the southern area.

3G is almost there, let's wait and see...

When mentioning the South, where is that exactly? South Africa, the Cape, Southern Gauteng??
 
I got my hands on a Blackberry 9700 that supports 900mhz 3G, and just checked...Cell C 3G available in Midrand cnr 6th & New RD. Will check tonight in Bruma. This btw is Johannesburg, South Gauteng, South Africa, Southern Hemisphere, Planet Earth in da Milky Way pezulu hehe
