I was in a Cell C store today, and was told that on the 25th May Cell C would be launching BlackBerry, I wonder how true this is. Consider I was about to port to VC for BlackBerry. Hmm should I wait or not wait.

It's about time if they are, then again it could be a ploy to keep you with them. Guess we'll find out on the 25th.
Will be interesting to see what packages they offer with it. If they get something decent on the table, it would be a strong drawcard for me

I thought the Blackberry launch was going to be on the 15/06/2010.
From my understanding, i thing the bottomof the range 8920 or something like that will be offered on the All Week 100 @ R100 incl IB + CLIP, excl Blackberry Subs.

I've taken a VC prepaid and activated BB on it so long, forwarding my Cell C calls to the Vodacom number currently I'm on Control Chat so no surprise bills there, will give Cell C a chance if and when they have BB available. Otherwise in 10 months time when my contract is up cheers, will port my number to VC.

I'm due for a cell C upgrade at the end of May and when I inquired earlier this year the dude at the cell C store also said they're launching their BB range 'sometime' in May. So we'll soon find out.

this i will belive when it happends, not untill then, i have being told this on different occasions, all having different dates.
If they're going to take as long as it took them to launch 3g, then you can just as well port out.
I plan on porting away, unfortunately still have 10 months remaining on the contract.
Hope so it's costing me a fortune to forward calls to my BB. But I wonder if they will offer a BIS package for Control Chat's and Casual Chat's or will they force users to take expensive packages. Also want to get my wife on a BB, just got a old 8700 that would be perfect for her.
I have an 8520 perfect little device, does the important things very well. I'd love a larger device but can't justify it. I managed to get my wife a second had 8700, just flashed it with a new OS and removed the IT policy from it, now waiting for Cell C to start with their BIS service so I and my wife can start using them.
