Cell C and BlackBerry

Just hang in there guys, its comming - should be more or less within a few days...

Remember, its taking Cell C ONLY 9 years to be upto speed with BB and 3.75G , MTN and VC had way more time to get this done.

lets give them a chance - we waited for so long, whats another couple of DAYS

A few more days has now become 10 days.
Any news yet?

Lets put some Technicality in spin on things

Blackberry is one of the worst SP’s to deal with (IMO), as most of the communication is done via email. However, I’m sure Cell C could have launched BIS in April, as it was ready to be launched, but instead of configuring the system on a live network, they are rather ironing out all the creases before the product is launched.

It’s the same with 3G – the service is they, it only a matter of simple binary code to switch it on  but they want to do all the ironing out first prior to the service being live.

I’m not saying it is going to be the BEST network in S.A, but they will be competing with the best 3rd network providers in the WORLD.

Well - how do you like these apples?

Some time ago, I left my details on the CellC site wrt BB.

Get back into the office today to find an email from them:

1st point of order - why the hell would you need to know anything about my having a contract or not and my number.

2nd point of order - they CC'd all of the people whom had interest in the email! :erm:
So not only - is my email (although be it my work one) been spread around to a helluva lot of strangers - I now have their's too.

WTF kind of shit is that? Seriously.

Then comes along another email - after one of the respondents decided to "Reply to All"

Good Day,

Please be advised that this mail was sent to you, and only you because you applied on the Cell C Website, PLEASE REFRANE FROM SENDING ON TO OTHERS .

Many Thanks

Mmm - you fscking sent all of our shit around first.

If CellC can't keep my damn email private - what are they going to do with the rest of my information if I were to subscribe with them?

Me thinks I'll pass.

Probably an IDIOT from the sales dept that does not know how to use the BCC function :)

According to my sources, all the data from the website is handed over to Cell C Direct, which in turn will contact these "Applicants" once BB is launched.

However, it seems that are splitting the "Leads" amongst staff to followup on.

If you have an exisiting contract, it makes it easier to apply for an addition line, as they will just have to update your info then then do a credit check.

I read on Hello Peter that CellC have launched their Blackberry BIS as of 26/07/2010.
Can anyone confirm if that is true?

Truth over matter is, when you phone in (lets say contact customers) the 2IC or team leader can check where you live, how much you making per month, your bank account details...and these are the people you shout and swear over the phone, (trust me they swearing you too)

So when it comes to something like this e-mail, don't be shocked if you get spam from kingdom come, Cell C workers have a jol in the call centre:whistle:

have i said too much?:D

Excellant, but what SMS how do we activate.

Edit: Ok found out some more you can activate the service by dialing *147# choose option 7 and follow the rabbit down the hole.

It apparently costs R57 per month for BIS ; and works on prepaid or contract.
On prepaid it deducts R57 from your balance, still trying to figure out what it will do on Control Chat does it also deduct from your balance...
