The guys at the cresta branch said they couldn't print me a 3GB 365 day virtual voucher but said that I could simply load R400 airtime and then buy the 3GB 364 days voucher.using ussd.

Today I get home load the airtime and lo and behold there is no ussd code for the voucher.

This is for data for my tablet and I have no use for the airtime. What do I do? The call center has already said there is nothing that they can do and I have now wasted R400.

This is completely unacceptable, cell c rep is there anything that can be done?

Then why didn't you enquire about the USSD?

Huh? I mentioned I phoned the call center to enquire on how to fix this. The cresta branch provided me with the wrong information, and there is no voucher on ussd. So how does this get fixed now?

Hi Mate

Just checked on my tablet and there is definitely the 3GB for R400 on *147#. I am however on Casualchat 100.

Are you on PAYG?

Guys the regular 3GB 30 day bundle is on there not the 365 day one.

They couldn't print, as they were looking for 3GB R400 bundle, not a special R399 you have requested. Why you cannot convert by USSD, I don't know, it should be available to the end of the year.

I had a similar experience at Cell-C N1 City yesterday, went in to buy two R49 All-In-One vouchers and they were also unable to print.
The lady assisting me emailed me the vouchers instead.

@Cell-C: Why aren't the All-In-One and the 3GB/365 vouchers available on the *147# USSD menu?
Are there plans to make them available?

I have also had nothing but trouble in the past, trying to purchase one these R399 3GB/365 vouchers.

Cell C N1 City insists it is not even on their system and they just stare at you blankly hoping you will go away...which I obligingly did, never to set foot there again! (They also tried the R400 USSD trick....)

Managed to succeed at Cell C Tygervalley after a long spirited "discussion".....

Now I only go there and speak to Jeraldo Dooling, as he seems to be the only one there who can actually find this voucher on their "system".

Apparently it is there, but not on the first E vouchers screen.
It is "hidden" on the E Vouchers - next screen - 3GB Data Voucher.

Seems like most Cell C customer facing staff do not know this and I wish it would be properly communicated to them by their marketing and support departments.

Why not go back to the store and take it up with the person?

I didn't really pay attention to who the salesman was. I don't see why I must go out of my way to get this corrected when all that needs to happen is they take the R400 that's sitting on the sim and credit me with one if the vouchers.

This isn't rocket science it is customer service 101.

Obviously the way to solve it is to bring it to the person who was dealing with. CellC rep is trying to help, but my experience tells me that the easiest way to reverse charges is by the person who was charging you. He/she is in fact in person responsible for this mess.

I don't want my money back I just want somebody to take the airtime and convert it to the 3GB data bundle it's not bloody rocket science.

It doesn't matter what do you want. It is two step process. Reverse charges first, and then purchasing the right product.

You're holding CellC responsible for something someone in a store told you - so take it up with the store, arn't they franchised anyway?

I'm sorry last time I checked I walker into a CELL C store, the internal workings of the company are not the responsibility of the client. A client should not have to differentiate between the two. The shop carries CELL C branding and as such CELL C is responsible for what happens there!

So if you buy a fridge at Game do you phone the head office and expect them to fix it?
