I moved to Cell-C for their Wi-Fi calling, which is not bad and I'm using it while traveling.
But man, their LTE has to be the biggest rubbish I've ever come acccross
I actually get more reliable data in some African countries that are basically at war!
I work +/- 1KM from the Cell-C Head Office in Waterfall. The phone always has LTE but can hardly send any packets. A speed test usually times-out, never mind actually get a speed reading!
My calls drop 90% of the time, also most people cannot call me - even though i have "full" signal. If I put a VC or MTN sim in the same phone it works 100%, so its not a device problem. Keep in mind that's within 1KM of Head-Office, Woodmead and/or Kelvin/Buccleuch.
I visited a friend in Buccleuch, i kid you not you can see the Head Office Building, and read the logos on the towers around it and I have 1-bar with LTE and nothing worked, no calls no data nothing.
Come on CELL-C, the least you could do is actually get your system to work AT YOUR OWN HEAD OFFICE and surrounding suburbs!
