Cell C data price cuts

Cell C is sending a clear message to its customers and competitors by introducing several new promotional rates for its contract data offerings.

Hopefully the 20GB for R189 deal sticks around for a while... would like to switch over when my 10GB/R199 Telkom Mobile contract is up...

yes yes yes, all well and good.
but why aren't these also offered as bolt-ons to existing contracts???
I don't wanna have to use another SIM for this... i want it on my existing contract.
Or at the very least, allow me to share data across accounts... so i'll buy the contract, but let me combine it with my existing contract to use the data on my main contract phone.

When will any of the networks get this thing right??!

This just reminds me how the networks only care about making the numbers count... they want more "subscribers" on their network so they launch these promos and then a few months later we see the headline "CellC increases subscriber base by .... ONE MILLION SUBSCRIBERS".
A bit of a joke, really.

Agreed. I think it's the regulator- 'promotional' pricing does not need to be approved. Changing existing pricing (for contract users) requires approval. Some BS like that

Having said that, this is confusing (likely due to MyBB wording):

Contract subscribers can now purchase Cell C’s 500MB per month offering for R39 per month.

The 300MB that comes with my contract will, according to the callcentre, be forfeit if I buy an additional data bundle.

The mind boggles sometimes

Just make it simple! 1 SIM for cheap calls and cheap data + smartphone is all we need- how hard can it be???

Really good rates from Cell C.

Couple points though:
1. Its a promotional thing for 3 months (not to say it wont become permanent).
2. No changes to the bolt on data prices
3. Its contract only

Still happy to see them taking the fight to the other networks, just means in the end the consumer benefits the most.

One other thing - a lot of people have been moaning about the poor signal quality and throughput from their connections - this is a valid concern, and i hope cell c are sorting that out, cause with these rates, it may make the problem worse.

I would pass on any deal currently offered by CellC , their network simply cannot cope with the influx of new subscribers

Lol this is Vodacoms pricing?
Whos copying who?

Im in the process of getting the new Samsung Ativ from Vodacom and the pricelist I got is the same as these promo prices?
