Cell C evening data connection issues!

Hey there. I don't know if i'm the only one with this issue so i'd like to find out before i report this to Cell C. Has anyone else had problems connecting to the net on the Cell C network between 6 and 11 in the evenings? This has been happening pretty much every night & it's starting to piss me off. Maybe it's just a network load problem because my device shows me that i'm connected via HSPA+ even though i don't get through. Any feedback will be appreciated.
 
Well known issues with cell c.
Mine has been going on for a month, 2-3 hours of internet a day maximum

Pm the cell c rep, and hope they do something

Well, its nothing new & you not the only one. Ive been having this problem for the past 5 months. From 5 to 11pm, i can hardly connect to the internet even on edge. Sometimes it happens during the day, sometimes the entire day & night. Good luck on having your issues fixed, but dont have your hopes too high.

I am experiencing the same problem and its on for 4 months, reported it to cellc in February 2013 and march, nothing happen. Reported it again in June and was told that the network is congested.
 
I'm in Mabopane just outside Pretoria. Though it doesn't seem like this is the only affected area.

Frustrating. I replicated the same issue cause i have a Cellc HSPA+ dongle and my IPad also happened to have CellC data. Below is an extract of email they wrote me and since then that ticket has been open up to today. Follow-ups to this has been nothing but gibberish of responses. Tiring!

Got the very same problem in Boskruin, Randburg, loose connectivity and even when connected no data through put, Sucks hey !
 
Am in Galo Manor. Started using it about 1 hour ago, i.e., about 10pm. Not problem.
 
Same issue Pretoria West. I'm going to get an 8ta sim sick of this shyt. I used to be a big supporter of CellC. But they are locking us out when we need the net the most 6 - 10pm. Can't do it no more...

Btw, any claw back on a 2gb package where I took the sim only?

Midrand also. Usually 6-11pm. Wanted to support Cell C in light of the competitive prices so switched over my ipad and cell to their network a few months back. These issues have been ongoing for the last two months now. Will be leaving the network come end of the month.
 
How can it be Vodacom and only during peak times? That being said how do I roam on Vodacom with my Dongle? Anyway I can force it to use Vodacom on the CellC sim?

You can force your phone to roam on Vodacom 2G ... do a manual network selection. I have often done this. The dongle you should be able to roam also ... but only 2G. As far as I know Cell C did not activate roaming on Vodacom 3G. EDGE is pretty slow ... but ok for stuff like WhatsApp etc. I have my Vodacom sim now on 2g only mode to save battery ... and in Midrand it works nicely. WhatsApp can send receive pics and google chrome also loads pages ... a bit slow ... but it works.
