Hi
Cell C fibre doesn't seem to feature at all with the MyBB users.

Does anyone use it? What Wifi router was supplied? Are you 'reasonably' happy with the service and speed?

Cell C Fibre

Hi Ppl's

I have recently gotten Cell C fibre. The 20/20 uncapped

They partnered with Vumatel who has just recently set up the infrastructure

Yes Cell C supplied a Huawei B315

Vuma-tel supplied a Fibre switch which has the name Raycore on it

The deal is for R899, it is unshaped, unthrottled, uncapped

Also they pay for the the full installation, both cell c and Vumatel which in total is R4700 if i remember correctly

So far ive been gaming, streaming with very little if any buffering, the odd freeze of Youtube. But other than that its been really good.

The only thing i cant figure out,

The Raycore fibre switch has 9 LAN ports but cannot be used as a switch. Does anyone know anything about it

Do you mind sharing some speeds tests to international servers?

Specifically I'd like to see pings to Europe, if you don't mind. Want to see if it's any good for gaming. :)

Youtube Streams Full HD really well. DSTV now works great accept now an then Super Sport drops on me.

There is no way tahat you can get a 5ms or 25ms ping to those areas. Not without bending the laws of physics and discovering warps drive technology combined with a worm hole.

Lol im telling you, why would i lie :wtf::crylaugh: lol i know what your saying the results tell a totally diff story however. i was on a 4mbp ADSL line from mweb, an now moved to fibre, I'm being a 100% honest my ping yesterday for like 4 hours play time stayed on 26

ill take a screen grab later.

You must have been connected to a SA server

Cfibre on Vumatel feedback

I had a call from Cfibre and their proposition sounds interesting.

Their prices are slightly more expensive than other competing products, but the cover the installation fee (R1700~odd) and connection fee (R999).

Contracts are month-to-month and if you cancel they charge a pro-rata rate to "claw back" the cost of installation, etc.

Does someone use them and how has the experience been?

999 connection fee. Never heard of that. The R1700 sounds right yes
