You can try disgruntled cell c employee but you'd still be wrong.
Maybe you can tell if cell c employees are happy?
No bonus in 3 years? That true?
as a customer of theirs, i would say that their signal is crap, i am contemplating moving back to vodacom :wtf: , i can almost never make a call without it dropping, or it loosing connection, and this is in the greater gauteng area..![]()
Telkom Mobile will face the same fate eventually, it cannot survive the duopoly.

As I was saying....
/ next step: telkom buys out cellc /
Yeah just look at where regulation got Vodacom and MTN to while they enjoyed R1.00 asymmetry per minute from Telkom. MTN just recorded over R13 billion rand profit this year.Lets hope Cell C can also enjoy the same type of level playing field the two bigs boys enjoyed all these years.
.
Yep those that want to protect MTN and Vodacom will continue throwing eggs at Cell C's face but the reality is no other company/new entrant with whatever management can survive under the current regulations.
This isn't mismanagement at Cell C or Telkom mobile but actually directly as a result of the unfair playing field Vodacom and MTN have been enjoying for over 20 years.Yes they needed that unfair playing field in the first 15 years in their favour to become big and strong with lots of towers, but now the tables need to turn, its about time the smaller operators enjoyed similar regulatory benefits to grow their networks also.
Perhaps they shouldn't have built this: http://www.techcentral.co.za/inside-cell-cs-sprawling-new-campus/46156/

They looked at it, and ran away nothing worth buying
something Cell C don't even offer. Can't even offer a basic service with a network they dont own anymore.
Maybe read about MTN, this is the group not MTN SA and includes MTN Business ISP Unit
Also a large portion of the profit is reinvested back into the infrastructure and network growth. Tax is paid on profit before capital investment.
I have the opposite experience in my urban area - I have to use a Cell C phone because the MTN calls break up mid-discussion and that's not good enough to run any business
Since seeing you are an MTN shareholder, employee or somehow connected, why don't you tell us how much of that R13 billion comes from that business ISP and what services and infrastructure that ISP uses and how was that infrastructure funded.Lets talk facts then shall we.You seem to know a lot so go on educate us.
In fact come to think about it,CELL C is run amazingly well considering the lack of profits and yet they have managed to develop a network that comes so close to and in some areas beats the networks of Vodacom and MTN,they have done a very very impressive job all while keeping the prices very low, what an efficient company.
Thanks old Bird of Prey, agree for a very large part with you. Qwerty is totally deluded IMHO, read also his comments under the original article and my reply. And there we go you have just proved me right, the facts be damned lets rather insult Cell C and make up stupid comments about network quality.
Cell C offers me a basic service and data service much better than MTN in my experience for the past year odd with them and I used to be with MTN for 12 years, where I live my data is faster and my calls connect just as good so overall its a better quality service.
I cant compare with Vodacom because I have never been with them but yes we all know MTN and Vodacom have bigger networks which they grew by using the subsidy they got from Telkom with ASYMMETRY,the very same ASYMMETRY they are now fighting against because it doesn't make them richer.
The bigger networks MUST subsidise the smaller networks,MTN and Vodacom are proof of this and if we want other competition to improve then we need to give them the same opportunities before we start insulting them.

Yes what portion/percentage exactly ?and what portion that went into maybe say that ISP you're promoting as independent?and how much was syphoned of to implement infrastructure in other markets instead of SA.

You just posting trash.
Yes MTN is big we know that and the ironic thing is they got big because they were subsidised by Telkom, the very same Telkom whose little mobile arm is battling because they are not receiving preferential asymmetry rates like MTN did for 15years.MTN group consists on operations in SA, Africa and Middle East, their other markets are massive and more profitable than SA.
Their ISP (fixed) services in the corporate sectors also contribute to their overall revenues, you cannot compare little ol 99c Cell C to ever come close to such profit margins as MTNs. Its not Cell C business model.
Cell C is not run very well. Their strategies are desperate. "Efficient", by calling Cell C efficient proves your biased and baseless understanding of the industry.
