Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

You can still cancel and return everything without being charged, even get your money back which you initially paid. As long you can prove there is a problem on your end and they are unable to resolve you can return it..

Thanks! I might have to record a video of my internet experience to prove that there is an issue.

Also, Axxess replied at 4:30AM to my support ticket and asked me to complete an attached form that they can send to IS. Except that the ODS file they attached is invalid. Google and Excel refused to open it. This is getting absurd.

Sigh,
Mine has also deteriorated in a matter of days, Started of excellent, now I cant even load a speed test. I had to fall back on RAIN which is painful, but at least it works

*How i wish we could get fibre in fcking Pretoria.

I'm also longing for fibre...

Just got off the phone with Cell C direct, their prices aren't that much higher than Axxess, and I'm sure I'll get a better experience, so I'm considering biting the bullet for Cell C direct. Either that, or VDSL. Problem is I took the B618 router, so if I have to buy that when I cancel Axxess, then I guess I have to use it, and it will be worthless if I have a VDSL connection.

Who would have thought that I will consider going back to Telkom after canceling their services less than a month ago

So where in PTA are you based? Has Axxess at least now admitted there is a problem?

I'm still back and forth with them , now at the the "complete the spreadsheet and send back stage"

I'm in Wingate Park.

Got that same spreadsheet today after opening a second ticket, even though the first ticket is still there and still pending... Will complete it tonight when I get home.

How do you explain the problem to them though? I tried talking to Axxess on their facebook page, but HOW do you explain it. I told them I just get a connection error and then it loads, and it intermitts, but they seem confused...

There is a band tool here:
https://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/920902-Do-you-see-4G-or-4G-with-Rain

But i've tried all the different bands and the only band that works is 1800.

Cellc should have LTE on 2100MHz too in LTE-A covered areas.

I noticed some mention that there is no LTE-A on the fixed deal. You should see 4G+ in the router if you are using LTE-A. If you only see 4G then it's not LTE-A. I would suggest inserting a Cellc prepaid simcard and leave the router at the same place to see if 4G+ works if it does and the Fixed LTE sim dows not pick it up probably means they did not activate LTE-A for IS.

How long does it take for the sim to activate?

I finally got my router this afternoon. Changed the apn settings, but there are no bars (no service, I suppose). Not tech savvy enough to know what's going on lol

The constant disconnection is back
Same here... Been without internet the whole evening. Put my Cell C SIM into the router to see if it works, and its like lightning! I believe this places the ball squarely in IS' yard...

This has been the worst internet experience I ever had. I have internet since it was dial up.

Why sell a product when you have not fully tested it. After this bad experience I don't think that I will be buying anything Axxess sells.

MWEB and some other ISPs are also selling this service.

The other isp's selling this service a using the cellc network. Axxess is using cellc towers to route traffic to the IS network. I think this is the reason for the bad connectivity.

Is anyone on the Mweb package experiencing the same issues?

I'm experiencing the exact same issue with Cellc. Throughout the whole day, pages take forever to load or timeout. If I manage to get speedtest loaded speeds are decent. 20-30mbps down and 10mbps up but cant even browse? Changing DNS makes no difference. Cellc, please sort this out.

I got a reply from axxess last night, and they recommended I change my Preferred Mode under Network Settings to 4G Only. It's been about 30 minutes since I did this and my connection seems stable.
Holding thumbs it stays like that.

Im in the Moot, I'm also on the "spreadsheet" stage. But they can go stick that spreadhseet where the sun don't shine. This is a prepaid service. I'm not jumping through hoops in getting this resolved. If they don't fix it I will not pay further and move back to the equally crap (but slightly better at this stage) RAIN.

Interesting, keep us posted if this continues to work.
I'll try it later tonight.

Were you having the same time out issues as the rest of us or were you having signal issues?
