Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

It's not just Axxess, the same problem has been experienced on Webafrica through CellC as well since this weekend.

It's basically unusable. I am assuming it's an IS based issue.

However Again Webafrica is surprising me with their horrible services levels. I have been with them for over 10 years and the last few has been diabolical.services requests are flat out ignored, over the phone they are super friendly but don't actually do anything. They simply don't log the fault. So then I email the fault and submit a ticket....been 48 hours and no response.

Just tel us....it's IS, we have no control over it. We apologise. Just that would atleast give us an indication of what is going on.

You are only able to return all goods and services at no cost (excluding 15% banking fee) within 7 days of payment

Are you sure? Everything I've read says that it's within 10 days of receiving the goods as long as I notify them within 5 days of receipt of the goods that I no longer wish to make use of their service as a result of it not working properly. The clause I'm interested in is where the CPA makes reference to 6 months within which to return defective goods.

Refunds Policy
Refunds will not be granted for services purchased in error. Should it be proven that a service is not working as per the Product Description, Terms and Conditions and/or Acceptable Usage Policy a refund will be granted. Refunds for amounts deposited into an Axxess DSL banking account erroneously will also have a 15% fee levied to cover our bank charges and will only be considered for processing 7 days after the original payment date. Refunds for debit order and credit card payments are processed after the second week of the month.

Cancellations Policy
The cancellation of a product or service is the clients responsibility. Cancellations must be actioned from the client control panel by the 24th for debit order clients, cancellations actioned after the 24th will be actioned for the end of the following month. If your payment method is Credit card you are able to process your cancellation for the end of the current month from the Client Control Panel for selected services (excludes ADSL Lines). Should you require your log in details for the client control panel please use the forgot password function on our website. Email, fax and telephonic cancellations will not be accepted, all cancellations must be processed via the client control panel. Failure to cancel your services will result in your service or product being activated for the new month and therefore liable for payment.

Axxess will not be held responsible for incorrect cancellations processed via the Client Control Panel, or be liable for any losses incurred.

Thanks, boebab. I'll check with my legal dep at work as I think the CPA supercedes their own clause i.e. Axxess can't implement a clause contradictory to that of the CPA. This would then be the exact reason the CPA exists, to actually protect the consumer from companies trying their luck like that. Anyway, back on topic :) Anybody else still having issues?

Please let us know. I also want to cancel but it's over the 10 day period. However the issue of no service was reported on day 2 and I still don't have service!

Anyone with Mweb Cellc experience the same thing? Do they use IS too?

Somewhat regretting this now. The connection is just not stable and keeps cutting out randomly. Will the router still work if I try and Set it to 3G instead of 4G?
I have the B315 by the way.

I just tried it only for a second, and it disn't work. Just wondering if the possibility is therelevant that it *can*.

Afternoon all,

The Cell C issue is not related to any specific ISP.
The issue with with all Cell C users on the IS (Internet Solutions APN).

We to date have also not received any status notice from IS as to the cause so we are operating blind at the moment as well.
The problem seems to have started yesterday at around 6PM.

Should Buzybuy receive more info regarding the issue then I shall update you on this thread.

Thank you.

Regards,
Dale.

Thank you for the feedback Dale, good way to gain some exposure, I've never heard of you guys before.

I guess Axxess, MWEB and Webafrica don't consider this a major issue to be giving us this kind of feedback. Useless.

Agreed - thanks for at least giving us some form of feedback, Dale. That time you mentioned would correlate with more or less when I tried using this service for the first time. It would have been great, as mentioned above, if Axxess (who is my ISP) had sent out some form of communication regarding this and what they're doing to try and resolve it.

At least they don't make their customers fill in excel spreadsheets about the router and what color the lights are and how many users are connected on the wifi when they know the problem is an IS problem.

It was actually laughable when I got this Excel sheet in my inbox. It looks as though it was intended for a service consultant to use as a call centre script!

At least whoever sent it to you knew how to attach documents, mine was an ODS file and didn't wanna open in excel or google spreadsheets.

Also Dale or Busybuy, the issue didnt start yesterday, it's been happening for over week.

Registered just to add my 2c.

I had the 50gb Package from Axxess for the month of Feb as a tester. It worked really well! I then gleefully upgraded to the 200gb package, which kicked in on the 1st of March 2018. From that day, the service was terrible. I keep getting DNS issues. Chrome would show excessive resolve times for the DNS. Steam would have trouble to connect. Only after killing and restarting it a few times would it work. I have become unable to do any sort of Speed Test - whether it be SpeedTest.net, Mweb or even Telkoms own site.

I tried every conceivable configuration option on my B315 router, nothing has changed the behavior. The behavior is present on multiple devices, so it cannot be a hardware issue. So to me, the following scenarios seem viable:

1.) In pure coincidence, the congestion in my area peaked as I migrated my package.
2.) By sheer stroke of (bad) luck, my migration to the larger package coincided with some sort of network failure at IS.
3.) The provisioning from IS / Cell C partially failed when migrating from my 50gb to the 200gb package.

Either way, all I can do is guess. Since the moronic excel form I had to fill in for Axxess is of little to no use. As others have mentioned here, the non-committal response from Web Africa / Axxess etc is really not helping. Luckily I just downgraded my ADSL as a backup in case this turned out to be a mistake, so that I can revert without hassle.

Was really hoping to LTE-A would be the perfect "rebound partner" while I wait for Fibre to be installed. Alas...

Yup, Last Friday 02/03/18 to be exact.

My connection seemed a bit stable today since 8, until now!
