Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

did yours arrive as .ods or excel? they sent me ods file which excel doesnt open unless you install without plugin

"ODS is a spreadsheet file format used by OpenOffice/StarOffice. ODS is an OASIS-formatted file, which is expected to become the standard file format for sharing documents. ODS files can also be opened by Microsoft Excel if it has the OpenXML/ODF Translator Add-in. ODS files store information so that it can be arranged into columns and cells."

for the next person lol... i basically replied send me excel or don't bother.

I found a weird issue with those files they sent, if I open either the ODS or XLS attachment from my Gmail, it says the file is corrupt.
But if I log on to the Axxess control panel, go to the support ticket dashboard, and download the file from the ticket, it works.

They sent me a corrupted .ods then a corrupted .xlsx then two blank .pdf's

South Africa adopted it as a standard some time ago:

looks promising, I've used openoffice and the ideas great, but Microsoft office doesn't support it, and the more plugins i load more chance of issues. so if they going to send me files I already know wasting my time, i wish they'd check what i can open.

aside from that they sent me a reply today asking me to remove sim, reset router, refit sim and set apn lte.broadband.is.
which is what I've done already, with every APN i can think of.

Enter your ISPs username and password and also Change the APN to lte.broadband.is

Just got that silly form to fill in today I really don't see the point of filling it in as that has absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand. Why can't they just say that there's a problem with the service and they working on fixing it. When I called in the guy seemed clueless as to what's going on and said everything is fine on his side.

I really think this is so bad from AXXESS to not inform us as to what the heck is going on. I wonder if there's anyone that this service is working fine for.

I phone Axxess and bypassed the Support service, the team leaders and got to a guy Angelo.

Summary:
Me - I asked him to keep in mind that their website is really not reflecting what is going on.
Axxess - He undertook to advice 'them' to change the useless service message to a message that actually reflect that there is a CellC vs IS issue
Me - I told him that it may be a good idea to add a note or SMS to their shipping package on new deals that instruct a user to change his APN. I also had to figure that one after a few hours of non service.
Axxess - He said that they are aware of it and that he will take the suggestion forward.
Me - 'You guys are becoming famous here on my Broadband forum'
Axxess - The issue is IS and CellC are dragging their feet in coming back with the root cause and solution.
Me - Perhaps using the website and empowering your support personnel with the correct information could lead to reduced Support calls, you are really not demonstrating good management here.
Axxess - Agrees, will take is 'forward'

I asked CellC guy here to also help out in a PM a few minutes ago: 'Please post the reason behind the current CellC and IS problem and the action taken to sort it out.'

Having the same issues with Cell C LTE through WebAfrica. Unable to load webpages, stream videos or do a speedtest. Have attempted all their suggested fixes ie: change DNS and Ethernet settings with no luck. Great value for the price you pay but totally pointless if you cannot use it. Will I get a refund if they cannot resolve this issue?

Also had RAIN LTE which was slower than my 1mbps ADSL line.

Tried my Telkom sim in WebAfrica's "free" router last night and achieved 30mbps DL. I'm seriously considering signing a 24-month contract with Telkom instead... which goes against everything I believe in...

Thanks for getting involved in 'our unconnected world'

Hi Kenny

Please provide more information. We would like to assist you but we are not aware of any problems.

This morning I was able to watch YouTube videos at 1080p but I couldn’t load the comments or open google. Go figure

Hi, I currently have a 200 Gig per month LTE-A contract with Mweb who are reselling Cell C data.

For the last week in Melkbosstrand, have experienced very high latency in the connection.

So much so that most devices (cell phones, media boxes, smart TVs) sometimes say that there is no internet.

Frustrating as, up until then, I have had very fast speeds (50 Mbps down, 30 Mbps up). Have raised a fault with Mweb who say that there is a Cell C network problem that is common to many users.

I raised the fault about 4 days ago... Still no solution in sight.

Am wondering whether I should cancel the Mweb contract and go to Telkom as there is a tower less than 100m from my place???
