Where are you located?

I can easily stream 2 to 4 SD netflix streams simultaneously any time of day. Also mostly fine for gaming with ping 30 - 40ms (to CS:GO servers). Sometimes when the wife streams netflix while I'm gaming I get a short stutter and ping shoots up to 150ms, but generally its okay. Again, I think it all depends how busy your tower is. I have a lot of low-bandwidth ooms and tannies in my neighbourhood :ROFL: Lucky me.
 
I've had enough of the Cell C fixed LTE and just cancelled. Currently looking at the Telkom offers but I cant find any month to month deals, I can only see 24 month contracts on their site.
 
I think I've heard most of their deals are available month-to-month, but for sim-only and sometimes in-store only.
 
I have Rain at one site, It works but get bad latency (45 to 60ms) and depending on the time of day and night also bad speeds.
Today my Cell C LTE sim from Axxess arrived, and it works better than the Rain LTE so far. With latency at around 28ms

But should I cancel my Rain LTE package? I am wondering if I should hang onto it for a bit incase, because apparently I will not get the same package again for this price. (25gb peak and 25gb offpeak for R300 a month.)

Interested in this deal as well. What speeds are you getting on Cell C Fixed compared to Rain Fixed LTE?

I am having a really rubbish time with Axxess /Cell C fixed LTE.

Bought the 100gb bundle in November (specifically asking the sales person if the area was covered) and everything worked fine till yesterday when the Huawei B315 router internet LED went red. No service, cant even use USSD. Contacted Axxess who says that my place is now not in the coverage area.... Its complete BS. Canceling and moving over to prepaid Telkom at this rate.

Axxess service has always been rubbish for me as well.

I think am having the same problem but with Webafrica. Also on the 100gb bundle and service was working fine, though my speeds have gone down from 20meg to 3meg recently. Then yesterday when I got home it wasn't working at all. I had no connection and thought it may have something to do with load shedding, but now it sounds like a similar issue to yours.

I had to cancel my Axxess Cell C fixed lte connection because of the roaming issues with MTN. Now Im on Telkom.
 
I just bought the 20 gig package from Afrihost end of December. Double checked to ensure there was coverage. It worked fine until last week. Now the red light is on. Afrihost advised same - I am no longer in the coverage area.
Is there nothing to be done but cancel? I pay a penalty fee to cancel...

No. My usage is normal. I did have my connection die at 11h57pm. Thought they would reallocate the new months data by 00h00 but noooo. Waited 45mins then rather went to bed. Everything working again this morning. No restart required. Dont plan to work online at midnight at the end of the month o_O
 
I've given up, have had 45 min long calls complaining, to be told all axxess can do is raise issue with internet solutions. I get 1mb down 15mb up, peak speeds is 3mb absolute max... (tried all 3 apns, signal is 100 even without antenna, firmware updated etc...) They still got my issue wrong. This month my debit failed so was cut, I'm taking that as a sign, I'm moving on... What other services are available... Lte about 50 gigs no contract... The rain looks tempting but that dead time is killer... (not uncapped 6 to 11)

In which area/province are you?
Have you tried taking your modem to another area/tower and testing there? Or otherwise putting the sim in a phone or another router?
The cell c tower in your area may just be totally over-used or your modem is bust.
Getting 20 - 30 mbps down in my area of PTA.

As for your actual question... vodacom has or had? a promo for 20+20GB. But generally they are quite expensive on the higher tiers (you pay for reliability). Do you have Telkom mobile reception? I wouldn't be to keen on Rain at this point in time. Maybe taking the fixed lte directly from Cell c might give you better results?

Someone informed me that they too cannot connect to CellC fixed LTE - wonder what the issue could be
