Cell C launches cheapest ever per-MB mobile data bundle pricing in SA

Goodbye, Goodbye and finally Goodbye and GOOD riddance to you Vodacom and MTN

At R0.13 / meg I am happy.

My companies mobile data bill will be reduced by around 35% per month, I’m happy and my boss will be happy that the R10 000 will be reduced by around R2.5k, thanks to CellC.

I’m shocked that I large company actually listens and changes because of US, the consumer, WELL DONE CellC.

Come Monday morning, CellC will be paid over R12000 for a few modems. Gonna chat to my boss tomorrow morning, the savings will be almost immediately!

Sooner or later this where it will lead. You have to remember, these companies are making a ton of $$$$ from SA consumers. I mean a TON. If you look at some of these companies revenue sheets, you can compare them to some of the big Euro companies/Asian companies. They make more than enough money to upgrade their networks, they choose not to because no one is doing it, why should they? It's all about profit!
 
I have always supported the "underdog" and it is nice to see them bite the bullys, where it hurts...
 
data is the currency of the future.
well done cell-c for realising this.
the other two still seem preoccupied with the current profitability of voice.
 
In India, a 2GB data bundle from the local mobile service provider equates to R19. How do they manage that!
 
Now let's see them get rid of the short expiry time. Make it roll-over for a year or forever.
 
Cell C CEO Lars Reichelt said that members of MyBroadband and customers who submitted comments via the TellTrevor site, helped them to realize that they had made a mistake with their data bundle pricing, and he thanked consumers for their feedback and for guiding the company in this regard.

Admitting that a mistake was made is gret, but shouldn't Cell C have looked at what MTN and VC charged for bundles?

Be that as it may, now I don't have a need for my VC sim and E272 modem any more! whereas it previously was Goodbye VC, see yu near the end of the month, now it is FAREWELL.

The first thing that really caught my attention was Lars Reichelt admitting they made a mistake. You don't often hear a CEO saying they made a mistake. Although I'm sure he had to first wipe the egg off his face. But I respect that.

I'm so sick and tired of getting screwed by Telkom and Vodacom. I too am routing for the underdog and will be supporting Cell C.

Unless this was the plan from the very beginning ;)
 
So this means that before these price & bundle changes, Cell C was ripping off its customers by up to 25%, and we don't really know how far they are continuing to rip us off. Now Cell C is the Hero

In free market economies (or semi-free market as some would argue) sites like this one are a necessity. Don't blame companies, they'll try and make us much profit as they possibly can. It is up to individuals to make sure prices are kept realistic.
 
Now the just need some signal in Hillcrest, can't even get gprs stably :(
