Cell C launches cheapest ever per-MB mobile data bundle pricing in SA

I have one Cell C requrest and im there like a bear. Cheaper text message like 8ta and Virgin are offering. plx. I sent around 300 sms messages per month. It's so great never to worry bout text messages on those two networks.

Virgin is fine for calling, their signal is much weaker for some reason, I get the feeling when set to default only uses the Cell C GSM network. You are able to force it to Vodacom using Virgin, maybe then GSM coverage would be better? I was under the impression though Cell C had a very good GSM coverage by now. I just know ive been in a few places where MTN and Vodacom were perfect but I cant get a slight grasp of a Virgin signal every so often.

Data Virgin is lacking, simple as that. Network feels like it only gets 1% of Cell C's data network allocation. Seriously. No frills network, guess thats how it works hey. The Virgin way.
You should realise virginity isn't for keeps!

Just saw an mtn tv ad that sells 75M for R50. I laughed my lungs out. Its a shame the general population are loyal to the big 3 and no trust in cell c. My father for example has used vc for ages now and does or is not willing to jump ship despite cell c's offer. Way to go Lars and btw the trevor idea is a brilliant one

Yeah it's hilarious how pathetic their offers are in comparison.

Well done Cell C, thank you for listening and responding to your customers.
Please keep up this good example that we so desperately need in this "new" South Africa of ours.

This is genius by Cell C:

Purposefully lay out expensive prices with intent on changing them.

Entice myBB consumers to complain.

Act all innocent, showing how they care about the consumers.

And voila:
Cell C has magical customer service:)

Cell C is the lesser of the other two evils, nonetheless it is still evil. They are still charging R2/MB. Until they reduce data bundle prices to R99/2GB, then I will call this good value for money.

9/11 was an inside job maaaan!

I would guess Cell C deliberately introduced higher prices for its high-end out-of-bundle/prepaid prices to let competitors believe they had no need to reduce their data prices. Now they strike by reducing their data prices, so what next for VC, MTN and Telkom???

I have had my cell c contract for 6 years and have always supported them, hoping that they will one day manage to rival MTN and VODASCUM.

the day has come. CELL C you guys rock and I love your new strategy. You have finally have a world class network and you are now giving us world class service.

CELL C FTW

These SP's make most of their moola from prepaid subscribers, that's why their prepaid OOB rate is still R2.00. 8ta is cheaper in this respect with on R1.00.

With reason, there signal still leaves much to be desired in some areas and they almost never listen to customer complaints, when they just give me a stable data signal in Hillcrest which is right by Durban I might change my mind but no use in me getting a service I can't use.

I just have one thing to say. WWWHHHHOOOOSSSSHHHH!!!

Thank you Cell C for making my internet experience a good one. You have been my cell provider of choice for years and years and now I am proud to call you my internet provider too.

in Japan:

I just signed up for a basic 100Mbps fiber optic connection for 1000 yen ($8) a month here in urban Japan (I kid you not). It's going replace my old connection which I was paying 6,000 yen for....Not sure of the service yet, but I can't imagine it will be THAT bad. On my current connection I regularly get 80Mbps.

Congratulations, you scored some serious e-rep point on that post

OK Cell C, you've gone halfway there by increasing the bundle sizes. How many complaints here and on TellTrevor will it take to make these bundles last for 60 days? It seems you guys play like the Boks, in fits and starts. As the saying goes: Go big or go home!
