Cell C please help me

I have been using my cell c sim for 10yrs but in the last few years only for whatsapp purposes. I recently missplaced the sim but the whatsapp was still active until I bought a new cellfone. I then found the sim I misplaced but it wasn't working. I approached the cell c store and even customer care to have a sim swap done but to no avail. I really really need my number back as it is my link to everything. Cell C please help me
