Unable to connect to Vodacom Edge Roaming anymore.

This started yesterday night and the problem still persists, I've tried two different computers and both don't want to connect anymore.

I keep getting a RAS 628 error, Remote computer has terminated connection. Anyone else having this problem with roaming on Vodacom Edge?

Edit: Finally able to connect again so it's ok for now.

Vodacom roaming

I was whooshing alone nicely till 30 minutes ago when everything just stopped resolving. I noticed I had dropped to EDGE and rebooted, thinking maybe it'd boot up correctly.

Now I'm on EDGE VODA Cellc (roaming) - and nothing changes it.

Anyone with a similar issue in Randburg?

Nope, Im in northriding and all seems well for me.

I'm in Fourways and it's all gone horribly wrong. This happened yesterday too.

I'm connected to a VC tower, and a VC sim is giving the same issues so I'm guessing the problem is VC (as is so usual around here).

I wish CellC would tell me how to access one of their towers - online support is not exactly real-time there, it seems.

@Lotus adn @Dolby when the issues are happening that you can't resolve, did you get an unsual IP addy?

I can never ever get vodacom roaming working, even though it's always there, available but not interested just like another crappy night at Tiger, Tiger, meh.

My issue lasted that hour only.

The bottom if the dasboard displayed Vodacom roaming with my Cell C SIM in my Cell C modem

Yeah but I can never get connected to vodacom even though it says network available.

Can't say I noticed - is there somewhere I should pick that up? (Modem is connected into a router, I should mention).

How would that be important?

Most (if not all) routers will probably not display this info. I only plug my modem into a pc when I REALLY have to

I just want to know that if I set my router to "roaming automatically" and it happens to roam away from Cell C to say Vodacom, will there be roaming charges somehow?

No.

No there shouldn't be, you will just not be able to roam 3g networks, only edge, which is really slow and sluggish, best is to try and stay on your own provider's network

There are other threads that have been started that show 2 ranges 197. and 43. Seems that there are issues when on 197. ip range (dns issues, wrong network, edge only, etc) thats y i asked

Cool thanx for telling me that it goes onto EDGE, now I know why it's so darn slow. Another thing: Does anybody else have frequent disconnections with Cell C?
