Cell C set to launch Blackberry soon

Yawn..... promises promises thats all Cell C do.. Come on Cell C stop doing the talk and actually deliver we really do want to support you but if you dont deliver a product then how can we..

Just went into cell c store and got them to activate BIS for blackberry, so far have some extra features working like facebook, just need to get browsing working properly.

I am myself considering that I should get a Blackberry and am very tempted to get it through whoever is cheapest.

So Cell C now has Blackberry services? Ie: BIS?
 
Its like buying a government issued bus so that you can drive in the special government issued BuS lane. The interior of the bus also reminds you of something old and ugly - like windows 3.11 or the UI of a BlackBerry.
Sure, I hear you say, they are working on OS 6 now! Yes that is like buying a government issued minibus taxi with spinners so that you can still go in the special BuS lane.

Yup, they can activate BIS and BES, just ask them to look on the computer system - most store staff have had no training on the blackberry products and will give you a blank look.

Dude - I've not seen anything in the news or on their site and have not gotten an email from them.
Which branch did you have that done at and congrats.

Was the handset their own stock?

Also - what the heck are the pricing structures on it?
Are you on Prepaid or contract - there really is no news about this besides what you're saying - yes I'm finding it hard to believe :p :D
 
Handset 8520 curve that we bought @ game (prepaid vodacom) 10 months ago as a replacement for a broken nokia e66. We were at Cell C Eastgate, price R59 for bis but don't quote me. On Cell C active chat 100. They are getting there own stock 1st of August acording to the people we spoke to.

You should be able to get it done at any branch just ask them to load it to your contract.
 
Still asking for wi-fi connection for some stuff - but can surf the blackberry website - might be missing some settings going to try phone cell c support just now, will post if I get it working.

WTF does this have to do with anything? Who cares if if the GUI of the Blackberry is not as stylish as Symbian etc. It is the functionality of it that counts in the end. Vista is better looking than XP but does that make it a better OS?
 
BIS cost on cell c is R57 per month, just got sms confirmation from Cell C

It illustrates that blackberry is not about having a performance device - its about using a special blackberry lane with a speed limit on the information highway made only of BuS drives.

LOL - yeah, and Windows 7 uber als. Come to think of it, Andriod, iOS4, Symbian^4 and Meego are miles ahead too.
